May 10–16, 2026, marks National Police Week — a time to honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of law enforcement officers across our nation.
Established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy and recognized through a joint resolution of Congress, National Police Week serves as a time to remember the officers who gave their lives in the line of duty while protecting the communities they served.
This week also recognizes the men and women who continue to wear the badge with pride, integrity, and commitment each day, as well as those who have honorably served and retired from the profession.
Behind every badge is a story of sacrifice — missed holidays, long nights, difficult calls, and an unwavering commitment to keeping others safe.
To all law enforcement officers, past and present, and to the families who stand beside them: Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and dedication. We honor the fallen by continuing the work and never forgetting their sacrifice.
