A resident in the 300 block of East Jefferson St. was issued a notice to abate on March 30th, 2026, for leaving derelict vehicle(s) parked on the property.
Joseph Dietsch, 44, of Rushville was arrested on March 31st, 2026, for possession of methamphetamine, methamphetamine delivery and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dietsch was issued citations and issued a cite and release with notice to appear.
Joseph Dietsch, 44, of Rushville was arrested on April 3rd, 2026, for an outstanding warrant issued by the Illinois Department of Corrections. Dietsch was lodged at the Schuyler County Jail.
Heather Meunier, 37, of Macomb was arrested on March 31st, 2026, for possession of methamphetamine. Meunier was issued a citation and issued a cite and release with notice to appear.
Christy Beatty, 65, of Beardstown was arrested on March 31st, 2026, for retail theft. Beatty was issued a citation and issued a cite and release with notice to appear.
A traffic accident was reported March 31st, 2026, at approximately 6:08 AM at the intersection of West Clinton St. and South Monroe St. A vehicle operated by Timothy Wallace of Rushville pulled out in front of a motor scooter operated by Amy Hoke of Rushville. Damages were estimated to be over $1,500 to one or both vehicles.
A traffic accident was reported March 31st, 2026, at approximately 10:58 AM at 121 Meadowview Dr. A vehicle operated by Alecia Matthews of Meredosia backed into a tree at the residence. Damages were estimated to be over $1,500 to the vehicle.
A traffic accident was reported on March 31st, 2026, at approximately 12:18 PM at 231 North Liberty St. A vehicle operated by Carol Jones of Mount Sterling was backing out of a parking spot and struck a vehicle operated by Marvin Phelps of Colchester who was also backing out of a parking spot. Damages were estimated to be over $1,500 to one or both vehicles.
A traffic accident was reported April 3rd, 2026, at approximately 5:27 PM at the intersection of Highway 67 and West Lafayette St. A vehicle operated by Daniel Gutierrez of Rushville pulled out in front of a vehicle operated by Savannah Cretsinger of Rushville. Gutierrez was issued a citation for the accident and was cited for failure to obey stop sign. Cretsinger was issued a citation for expired registration. Damages were estimated to be over $1,500 to one or both vehicles.
A traffic accident was reported April 3rd, 2026, at approximately 5:56 PM at 113 West Washington St. A vehicle operated Kristen Wayland of Rushville backed into a parked vehicle owned by Karen Martin of Rushville. Wayland was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Damages were estimated to be over $1,500 to one or both vehicles.
A traffic accident was reported April 5th, 2026, at approximately 6:38 AM at 304 West Clinton St. A vehicle operated by Geri Ringenberg of Rushville backed into a parked vehicle owned by Brian Smith of Littleton. Damages were estimated to be over $1,500 to Smith’s vehicle.
A traffic accident was reported April 5th, 2026, at approximately 10:35 AM at 710 East Adams St. A vehicle operated by Alison Ruth of Rushville was attempting to turn into a parking lot and turned into oncoming traffic and was struck by Lori Hulvey or Camden. Damages were estimated to be over $1,500 to both vehicles.
A total of five traffic violation warnings were issued.
Officers responded to eight speak to officer requests, one ordinance violation complaint, two civil matter complaints, one trespassing complaint, one remove unwanted subject complaint, one burglar alarm, one loud noise complaint, one suspicious person complaint, two suspicious circumstances complaints, one neighbor dispute and one theft complaint.
Officers performed 427 business checks and found one open door. Officers performed fourteen house watches, four citizen contacts, three follow-up investigations, three check well-beings, thirteen paper services, two vehicle unlocks, one motorist assist and one funeral es**rt. Officers assisted other agencies once, the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office once and assisted EMS twice.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
