Rush County's environmental organization to promote reduced consumption of materials, reuse, and recycling as well as safe disposal of household hazardous waste at the Clean Green Rush Tox-Away Center. It is also known as the Rush County Solid Waste Management District, a unit of local county government.

***Closure Update*** The current transfer station at Smiley Avenue WILL NOT be closing next week. The recent rain has delayed the contractor at least one week but possibly longer. Follow the City page and Clean Green Rush for more updates. We will post updates when we have a definite start date.

Reminder, the closure of the current site will be temporary while infrastructure work takes place along VanSickle St and McFarland St.

Exciting changes are coming to Rushville!

Site work for the new Transfer Station is scheduled to begin the week of June 15.

Please be aware that temporary street closures may occur during construction. The current Transfer Station will be CLOSED during the week of June 15 and, while work is underway, will only be open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The goal is to have the current transfer station temporarily closed for only a few weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The tentative plan is for the new Transfer Station to open by Earth Day 2027.

Please follow the City of Rushville social media pages for updates, closures, and additional information throughout the project.
