Reminder to those holding a dump permit that there is a size limit on the pieces that can be taken out to the dump. Failure to abide by these limits could mean your permit would be revoked or the dump closed.
Please be considerate of the City's rules and why they are in place.

Area/GFL just notified City Hall that they are ahead of schedule. If your normal trash pick-up is Friday, they will be there to pick it up, without the holiday delay, and possibly your tote as well.
If you do not have it out, they will come back either Saturday or Monday to pick up.

Starting Wednesday, May 27th, Laverdiere Construction will start putting up traffic control and closing the 300 block of West LaFayette Street. Please be patient while the city moves forward on this phase of LaFayette Street.

This is the last week for Area/GFL to pick up trash. They are asking everyone to put your empty containers out starting June 1st and they will be around to pick them up throughout the week.
You will need to start using your new Rocket Disposal tote on June 1st.

City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26th.

Starting Tuesday, May 26th, the city maintenance workers will start their summer hours. This means the city shed will be open from 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Reminder that the trash service is for city residents only. Anyone living outside the city limits or has a business can use whatever trash company they wish.

Camping season is in full swing at Schuy-Rush Park. Please keep in mind that golf carts MUST be parked by 10:00 p.m. and only driven by a licensed driver.
Anyone disobeying these rules will get 2 strikes and after that you will be made to remove your cart.

REMINDER
As we all know, the Virginia is a beautiful place to take photos. It’s also a beautiful place to hold a wedding, reception, dinner, or any other kind of party.
We ask that while you’re there taking photos, please keep in mind that someone may have rented the building for a private event. Even if the doors are open, please refrain from entering unless you are attending the event. Thank you for respecting the privacy of our guests.
