* Until 530 PM EDT.

* At 436 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Vanceburg, or
18 miles northwest of Carter Caves State Park, moving east at 35
mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Ashland, Ironton, Coal Grove, Cannonsburg, Lake Vesuvius, Kenova,
Catlettsburg, Greenup, Princess, Coalton, Greenbo Lake, Oldtown,
Naples, Rush, Load, Durbin, Letitia, Flatwoods, South Point, and
Russell.

This includes Interstate 64 in Kentucky between mile markers 175 and
191.

AFFECTS: Boyd, KY; Carter, KY; Greenup, KY; Lawrence, OH

INSTRUCTION: Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Incident commanders have had a meeting with pipeline operator representatives and air sampling readings were within acceptable limits and the complete evacuation area is cleared for residents to return.

We would also like to thank the residents that were displaced for precautionary reasons for their cooperation.

The help from all our neighbors in handling this incident is very appreciated.

Update on gas line incident.

Pipeline operators are on site verifying the involved section has been isolated. Crews are currently testing the air in the area. We will update when more information is available.

Avoid Jacks Fork in 24200 block for next couple hours while a tree is removed by Dept of Highways and utility provider repairs their poles.

..ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THROUGH THIS EVENING...

Low to very low humidities and dry fuels will combine to result in elevated fire danger through this evening. Humidities will recover an hour or two after sunset, alleviating the threat tonight.

Remember, Kentucky regulations make it illegal to burn between the hours of 6 AM and 6 PM within 150 feet of a woodland or brushland during the Spring Forest Fire Season that runs until April 30th.
