Liberty at the Lake returns to Rural Retreat Lake July 3–5, and the countdown is officially on.

⭐️ Star Spangled Spotlight: Big Bump & The Stun Gunz ⭐️
Liberty at the Lake | July 3–5

Join us at Rural Retreat Lake for three days of live music, fireworks, family fun, and an unforgettable Independence Weekend celebration right here in Wythe County.

Taking the stage on July 5 at 2 PM is Big Bump & The Stun Gunz, a high-energy blues and classic rock band known for delivering powerful performances and crowd favorites. Originally formed in Greensboro, North Carolina, the band blends blues, funk, R&B, and classic rock into a sound that keeps audiences engaged from the first song to the last.

Led by Big Bump (Bubba Klinefelter) on guitar, harmonica, and vocals, the group features a talented lineup of musicians who bring plenty of energy, musicianship, and fun to every show.

Catch them live at 2 PM and spend your Independence Weekend enjoying great music, lakeside fun, and an unforgettable celebration at Rural Retreat Lake.

UPDATE 11:30AM - The pool will be closed today due to a mechanical failure. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The pool at Rural Retreat Lake Campground will open at 1:00 PM today, Friday, June 5.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to welcoming everyone for an afternoon of swimming and fun.

The wait is over!

Maintenance is complete, and the Rural Retreat Lake Pool is back open and operating daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Thank you for your patience while crews completed necessary work to get everything ready for a safe and enjoyable summer season.
