Congratulations to runners of our 17th annual Flat & Fast Rural Hall 5K 10K and business sponsors, many of them members of the Rural Hall Area Business Association, who hosts this event. We raised
$12,038.25 for Rural Hall Elementary School. Amanda Melvin Joyce said she had never seen the top of my desk and so took this photo to remember what it looked like cleaned off! Usually it has at least 4 or 5 stacks of files in various stages of service, quotes, or rewrites! Locking up for the last time! Will miss my staff and customers, but not the companies raising rates and cancelling policies! Glad the office can stay open under new management to continue to serve the Triad with multiple companies!

Our RHABA members from Novant Health, gave us a great program this past Tuesday! We are so fortunate to have them in our group and supporting our race as a major contributor. Pictured from left to right are: Brittney Albert, Lindsay Snyder, and Josh Gordy. Brittney focuses on community relationships, Lindsay focuses on the Novant Health Clinic in Rural Hall, NC, and Josh coordinates a host of regional clinics in our area as well as heading up our sponsor committee for the annual race/fund raiser for Rural Hall Elementary School.

Thank you again for inviting us to join you for lunch, and for your continued support of our Food Bank. This year the Rural Hall Area Business Association was able to collect $2027.50. These funds will be matched due to our current match campaign, giving each $1 the ability to help us provide up to 14 meals. That would put us just shy of 28,400 meals. The physical food collected will also push us very close to that total.

Today we presented Rural Hall Elementary School $12,044.77 from the 5k/10k race. Most of these funds came from the business members from the RHABA and they volunteered at the race.

The Flat & Fast Rural Hall 5K 10K is on Saturday October 29, 2022. It includes the following events: 10K Race, 5K Race - Ages 13 and up, and 5K Race - Ages 5 to 12 only.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, members of the Rural Hall Area Business Association met to conclude our annual food drive for 2nd Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. We bought in about 180 lbs of non-perishable food items and collected $1,673 for the food bank. Joe Kilar, with the food bank, reported that they are currently in a matching campaign so this will be doubled and every dollar can create up to 7 meals. This is possible because much of their food is donated, so these funds are used to provided shipment from the donor company to the food bank, which in turn has to distribute it to multiple outlets where families can access good healthy food in their local areas. So not counting the actual food items donated, the RHABA food drive for 2022 equates to 23,422 meals!!! Our membership certificates state that RHABA consists of "businesses working together for a better community"! Today was one of the many examples that we can cite where our business members, on a regular basis, sacrifice for others benefit!

The RHABA presented Rural Hall Elementary with $9,362.24 - proceeds from the Rural Hall 5k/10k race held on October 23. Pictured is: Principal Shannon Boles with Race Director Steve Hill
