You're invited to join the Parks and Recreation team for the final Full Moon Night of the 2026 season at White Sands National Park, taking place on Sunday, October 25th. This exceptional event promises breathtaking views of the mountains, white sand, and celestial bodies. We will provide handicap/wheelchair accessible transportation, and kindly remind you that no alcohol is permitted. You're welcome to bring personal items such as chairs, blankets, and small coolers. Our convoy will depart from the Ruidoso Community Center parking lot (adjacent to the public swimming pool) at 1pm and return around 8pm. The registration fee covers transportation to and from the park, as well as the entry fee. Please dress appropriately, as the temperature will drop significantly after sunset. To secure your spot, register at ruidosoparksandrec.com; if you don't have an account, you'll need to create one. For any inquiries, please contact our office at (575)257-5030, Monday through Friday, between 8am and 4:30pm.

We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2027 10U & 14U Youth Basketball season is now open, with a deadline of January 1, 2027. This co-ed program welcomes players of all skill levels, with no tryouts required. To enroll your child, please visit ruidosoparksandrec.com and create an account if you don't already have one. Registration for the 2026 6U & 8U Youth Basketball season is now open for enrollment. This co-ed league is designed for children of all skill levels. To secure a spot, please register your child(ren) at ruidosoparksandrec.com. If you don't already have an account, kindly create one to complete the registration process. Please note that there will be no games scheduled during the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Join the Ruidoso Recreation staff for a delightful evening at White Sands National Park on Sunday, October 25th, as we celebrate the final Full Moon Night of 2026. Take in the majestic views of the surrounding mountains, relish the crisp fall weather, and marvel at the breathtaking sight of the full moon. You are invited to bring small coolers, blankets, chairs, and sand toys to enhance your experience. Please note that temperatures will drop after sunset, so plan accordingly. We will depart from the Ruidoso Community Center (adjacent to the public swimming pool) at 1pm and return around 7pm. Wheelchair and handicap accessible buses will be provided for transportation. Register for the next full moon night ends Tuesday, August 25th. Join the Parks and Rec team for an enjoyable evening at White Sands National Park where you can enjoy the spectacular white sand, breathtaking views and a magnificent full moon. You are welcome to bring chairs, coolers, toys (sleds, frisbee, volleyball, etc.), umbrellas and blankets. There is no alcohol allowed on village vehicles. We will be taking handicap/wheelchair accessible bus(es). Everyone will meet at the community center parking lot by the public pool and leave there at 4pm. The estimated return time will be 10pm. You can register at ruidosoparksandrec.com, the fee is $20.00 and that includes the transportation to and from and entry into the park. Registration for the 2026 Youth Flag Football season ends this Sunday, August 16th!! Get your child(ren) signed up for the opportunity to learn teamwork, sportsmanship and have fun! Girls are welcome to play also. Parents, if you want to coach, please contact our office. We are also looking for referees, we do pay our refs. You can sign up at ruidosoparksandrec.com.
