Adopted!- 🐾❤️ MEET GIZMO — THIS LITTLE GUY DESERVES HIS FOREVER. ❤️🐾

Some dogs come into rescue because they did something wrong.

Gizmo isn’t one of those dogs.

This sweet 8-year-old neutered Shih Tzu has been surrendered twice — and neither time was his fault. 😔 Somehow, through it all, Gizmo has remained the loyal, confident little guy he’s always been. Now we’re hoping his next chapter will finally be his last.

Gizmo has plenty of personality! He’s loyal, confident, and a little stubborn — because he knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to let you know! 😂❤️ But underneath that Shih Tzu attitude is a dog who wants what every dog wants: someone to love him and a family who will never give up on him.

🐶 Dogs? Yes! Gizmo gets along with other dogs.
🐱 Cats? Yes! He does great with cats and is perfectly happy to leave them alone.
👧 Kids? He would do best with teenagers and older rather than young children.

And there’s an adorable story behind his name. His original owner’s grandchildren named him Gizmo after watching Gremlins. 🥹 And honestly… the name fits this little character perfectly!

At 8 years old, Gizmo isn’t asking for much. He just wants a soft place to land, a person to be loyal to, and the security of knowing that this time, he’s home for good.

After being surrendered twice through no fault of his own, Gizmo deserves someone who will choose him and keep choosing him. ❤️

Hayden is affectionate and loyal once she feels comfortable with someone. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was understandably scared, so she’ll need time, patience, and a little understanding to build trust with a new person.

Once Hayden knows she’s safe, she has so much love to give. She’s looking for a special person who will let her take things at her own pace and show her that she’s finally home. ❤️

Luca is a 4-year-old neutered white Husky with a calm, affectionate personality and plenty of Husky charm. He loves being around people and is sweet, loving, and—like many Huskies—can be wonderfully vocal.

Luca does have a small prey drive, so he would do best in a home without small pets such as cats, rabbits, or other small animals. He does, however, enjoy the company of bigger dogs and can get along well with canine companions his size or larger.

If you’re looking for a loving, calm Husky with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Luca may be the perfect match. ❤️

The Royse City Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, September 7th, 2026, in honor of Labor Day. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026.
