Person Industries & Person County Recycling Center Person Industries and Person County Recycling Center is a community rehabilitation program that trains people with disabilities for jobs in the community.

Person Industries and the Person County Recycling Center is a community rehabilitation program located in Roxboro, NC. We train individuals with disabilities for jobs in the community and achieving their vocational and personal goals. Person Industries has been in operation since January of 1985. The Person County Recycling Center (PCRC) opened in June of 2009. PCRC is a MRF (Materials Recovery Facility) that accepts comingled recyclables from Person County and surrounding counties, employing adults with disabilities. Mattresses and box springs are NOT accepted at the Person County Recycling Center.

They belong at the landfill, where they can live out their retirement years with all the other things that are not recyclable. 😴

Person County Recycling Center will host our FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event for Person County household residents on:

📅 Saturday, September 26, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Person County DSS Parking Lot
355 S. Madison Blvd., Roxboro, NC

Clean out the garage, shed, cabinets, home office and those drawers full of old stuff! We’ll be accepting a variety of materials, including:

🏠 Household Hazardous Waste – cleaners, oil-based & latex paints, motor oil, antifreeze, flammable liquids, expired medications, propane tanks (20 lbs. or smaller) and more

🌾 Farm Pesticides

💻 E-Waste – computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, printers, gaming systems, hard drives, smart watches, flat-screen TVs & monitors and more

🔋 Batteries – lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries from all vehicles, plus items containing rechargeable lithium-ion batteries

📄 Document Shredding – onsite shredding for personal documents

This is a great opportunity to safely clear unwanted materials from your home while helping protect our community and environment. 🌎💚

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 What once held paperwork is now growing possibility!

At PI & PCRC, we’re giving filing cabinets a second life as raised garden beds by launching a hands-on gardening curriculum. Through this program, our consumers are building life skills, exploring nature, and experiencing the joy of growing their own food. We’re also creating a sensory garden (engaging smell, touch, taste, and sight) so every participant can connect with the garden in a way that’s meaningful to them. This is just the beginning of a larger project we’re incredibly excited to grow, and we can’t wait to see where it leads.

A special thank you to Lowe's Home Improvement, Roses discount store, and Landscape Supply & Equipment Rentals for donating supplies and helping make this vision possible.
