Attendees explored the soil tent, acquired knowledge about the foundational role of soil, and completed the session with watershed education. Two Person Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor seats are open for filing. If you’re passionate about agriculture, water quality, soil health, or environmental education, this is a great way to serve your community.

Filing is available at the Person County Board of Elections, 331 S. Morgan St., Roxboro, with a $5 filing fee. The filing period closes July 6, 2026, at 5 p.m.

Yesterday, we gathered with family, friends, community leaders, and conservation partners to recognize the Thomas family's dedication to agriculture, stewardship, and conservation in Person County.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to honor this well-deserved recognition and to celebrate the important role conservation plays in keeping our farms and natural resources strong for future generations.
