On September 17, 2026, the City will install a new traffic signal cabinet at Main Street and Rowlett Road.

This is an equipment upgrade only; there will be no permanent changes to traffic patterns.

Work is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During this time, the traffic signal heads will be dark, and temporary stop signs will be in place. The intersection will operate as a four-way stop.
Work is weather permitting.

🥜 A little friendly competition can do a lot of good!
Rowlett and Sachse are going head-to-head this September in the Peanut Butter Bowl, benefitting the North Texas Food Bank. Every jar and donation can help provide food for North Texans in need.

Rowlett, you’re showing up! We’ve raised $720 online so far, and physical donations have been coming in at collection sites across the city, including 7 jars collected at Live on Main last week.

Can we beat 7 this week? 👀

You can also donate at any of these Rowlett locations:
🥜Rowlett Community Centre (5300 Main St.)
🥜Fire Station 2 (8602 Schrade Rd.)
🥜Utility Billing (6602 Dalrock Rd.)
🥜City Hall (4000 Main St.)
🥜Rowlett Public Library (3900 Main St.)

Let’s keep spreading the love, Rowlett! 🤎

📊 The results are in. Next week, we continue the conversation.

On Wednesday evening, we’ll publicly share the results of the 2026 Community Survey for the first time.

You’ll hear what 452 randomly selected Rowlett households told us about our community, hear directly from City leadership about what we’re doing in response and have an opportunity to help us dig deeper into several key findings.

The ETC presentation and Mayor & Interim City Manager forum will be recorded and shared with the community. The breakout conversations will not be recorded. We want these smaller discussions to be an opportunity for residents to show up, share their perspectives and be part of the conversation.

Then, choose the conversation that matters most to you:
🚓 Police Protection
🏡 Quality of Life
👨‍👩‍👧 Place to Raise Children
📣 Public Involvement & Communication

Your survey response gave us the “what.” Your participation can help us understand the “why.”

🌳 Help plan the future of Herfurth Park!

Voters previously approved a bond for Herfurth Park based on a conceptual plan. Now, as we move into the design process, we want to hear from you!

What would make Herfurth Park a great park for you, your family and the Rowlett community? What improvements would you like to see? Your feedback will help guide the park’s design and what comes next.

You can also weigh in on recreation options like hockey, pickleball, basketball, sand volleyball and tennis.

📣 Take the Herfurth Park Community Survey and share what you’d like to see!

We’re doing more than putting survey results on a screen.

💬 7 p.m. | Talk About What We Heard

👥 8 p.m. | Help Us Dig Deeper
Choose one of four facilitated breakout conversations and spend the hour helping us better understand what’s behind the numbers.

🚧 Toler Business Park Reconstruction

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, September 14, 2026, starting with Phase 1 sanitary sewer installation on Century Drive, followed by drainage improvements, other utility work, and roadway improvements.

During construction, one lane of traffic will remain open with controlled traffic using temporary signal lights, flaggers, and other traffic control measures as needed.

Please expect construction activity and temporary traffic impacts in the area. The City and contractor will work to maintain access to businesses and properties as much as possible.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to improve Toler Business Park.
