Remembering 25 Years Later

This September 11 marks 25 years since our nation was forever changed.

The City of Rowlett will commemorate the anniversary with a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Fire Station 2, 8602 Schrade Road.

The ceremony will feature the Rowlett Police and Fire Honor Guard, remarks from local fire and police leadership and Mayor Jeff Winget, a moment of silence and dispatch tribute, a bell ceremony and a live performance of TAPS.

Residents are invited to be present as our community takes time to honor those who were lost, those who served and the memories that remain.

Update: Dalrock and Princeton have been reopened following the accident

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE: DALROCK ROAD AT PRINCETON ROAD

The northbound and southbound lanes of Dalrock Road are currently closed at the split near Princeton Road following a vehicle accident involving a utility pole.

Oncor is working to stabilize and repair the pole before the vehicle can be safely removed. There is currently no estimated reopening time.

Please avoid the area, use an alternate route, and allow additional travel time. We will provide an update when the roadway reopens.

COMMUNITY UPDATE: VEHICLE ACCIDENT

We are aware of community speculation regarding a possible explosion in the 5100 block of Rowlett Road. The emergency response was related to a vehicle that accidentally entered two businesses. No explosion occurred, and no major injuries were reported.
