Reminder Cannon Hill Park will be open over the Labor Day Weekend. Please ensure that your down before dark and help keep our site clean while visiting.

Also, on Monday around 9:30 am we will be having a small dedication ceremony for the placement of a new plaque on the overlook. All are welcome to attend. We will have some volunteers offering to shuttle up for the ceremony. If you'd like a ride up, they will be transporting from the Rowlesburg Park between 9 and 9:20am.

Thanks to everyone who has visited this year so far. Hope to see a good turn out this weekend. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend!

The summer season upon us!!! Mark your calendars for the planned dates for the opening of Cannon Hill. The following are days the gates will be open to the public:

-Memorial Day Weekend
(May 25-27)
-June 1st (Hiking Event)
-4th of July Weekend (July 6-7)
-First weekend of August
(August 3-4)
-Labor Day Weekend
(August 31-September 2nd)
-Weekend of the Rowlesburg Chestnut Festival

I hope we continue to have turnouts like we did this past year. Thanks again for the continued support and interest in this historic site and scenic overlook.

Cannon Hill will be open this weekend October 7th & 8th for the Chestnut Festival.
Please be safe and enjoy yourself. This will be the last time of the year it'll be opened! This will be an awesome opportunity to see the beautiful colors of Autumn and enjoy some chestnuts on Sunday at the Rowlesburg Park!
Once again we just ask that everyone planning to visit please be respectful of our site.

Thanks to all who visited this year, and all of the volunteers who helped make it possible to open the site. Also a special thanks to all who made donations, it's greatly appreciated.

Also over this weekend we will have the Train Depot 12-4. The Museum and Library will be open from 10-2.
