I get asked a lot why a candidate for school board is running around fighting developers and data centers. The reason is simple: fighting for schools means fighting for communities.

I’m tired of our towns and neighborhoods getting bullied big money corporations and investors who can’t even find our homes on a map. But in a place where there’s no mayor or city council, people look to any elected representative to do something.

These developments threaten our schools, our communities, and our way of life. I can’t see a bigger duty for a school board member than to fight for the safety of their hometown.

Our trustee area is where the puente hills data center could be located and it’s where the majority of the city of industry (within the Rowland unified school district) lies.

I want to be a leader who does more than go to school meetings, but one who fights for people over profit.

Beyond proud to announce that I’ve been endorsed by to deliver on an agenda of Learning for All this November.

Run for Something is an organization that supports young, first time candidates running to fight for working class people. They’ve championed over 1,000 elected candidates since 2017, and this November I hope to increase those stats with a victory for students and families in this race.

BESS is spreading like wildfire in our communities across the SGV. It’s coming up in City of Industry and now it’s trying to get in Covina. These developers couldn’t care less about the risk it presents to our homes, schools, and communities. What matters to them is how much money they stand to make.

They’re all money, but money is very lonely, and we have people, a lot of people.

Last week over 200 residents crowded the Covina planning commission. This is part 2 of that meeting. RWE tried threatening the commission that they would just go around the city if they rejected them, and said they might not give them the $75k community benefit agreement they offered.

This is your opportunity to jump in the fight and say that our cities belong to us, not to project developers who had to use google map to find out where we even live.

Show up and speak at the Covina City Hall planning commission on 6/30/26 at 7:00 PM

125 E College St, Covina

See you there 🫡

Just did a clean up around the north side (La Puente and South San Jose Hills) in our neighborhood and near our schools.

We picked up a ton of garbage but in exchange for the free health insurance and stipends our elected leaders get, we need to vote in people who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

Northside this week, southside (Rowland Heights) next 🔥

My name is Brandon Macias, I work in RUSD classrooms, I’ve organized communities in Rowland Heights and La Puente, and I’m a proud product of our schools.

I’m running to an agenda of Learning for All, the idea that every student, regardless of their background, should have access to education and opportunity.

Ive been fighting the fight for accessibility and representation in RUSD all my life, working with educators, parents, and students to deliver on systemic changes our education system needs.

Just now people are waking up to the need for a new kind of politics at the local level here in the SGV. Government that asks you how they can help, rather than government that explains to you why they can’t.

This election in November matters because change is on the ballot. A politics where leaders aren’t afraid to speak out against powerful politicians, big money, and political machines is in the works, and now is the time to make it happen.

Vote for Brandon Macias for Rowland Unified School District board of education 2026 in Area 3 this November 3rd.

This week we honor the over 3.8 million teachers in the United States! From TK, to 12th grade and adult Ed, our teachers are the amazing stewards of our future generation. I’m proud to work alongside so many amazing educators who fight day in and day out for kids.

I wouldn’t be in this race, heck I wouldn’t even be able to speak English, were it not for the amazing RUSD teachers who believed and supported me as a student, and now as a community leader.

Teachers rock, happy teacher’s appreciation week 💙
