Senior Awards Night at John A. Rowland High School (jarowlandhs) was truly a night to remember.

Congratulations to all of our graduating seniors who were inducted into the RHS Hall of Fame and recognized for their outstanding achievements in academics, leadership, service, and career preparation. Students were honored for accomplishments including Senior Seminar, National Merit Commended Student and Finalist recognition, the California State Seal of Biliteracy and Seal of Triliteracy, Department Citations, community-funded scholarships, and much more.

What stood out most was the incredible breadth of talent represented on stage—from future engineers and healthcare professionals to multilingual scholars, community leaders, and student researchers. These awards reflect years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. Your Rowland High School family is proud of you, and we cannot wait to see what you accomplish next.

I had a wonderful time attending the Exit Ceremony for Rowland Unified School District’s (rowlandusdschools) STARS Adult Transition Program.

Thank you to Administrator Annette Ramirez for inviting the Board of Education to celebrate this important milestone. It was a pleasure to join staff members Dr. Anthony Bull, Melissa Valore, James Duldalao, Meghan Foote, and RUSD Teacher of the Year Olivia Vasquez in recognizing our students’ accomplishments.

The STARS Program serves young adults ages 18–22 with developmental disabilities, helping them build the skills necessary for successful adult living through a combination of classroom instruction and community-based learning experiences. Students develop skills in communication, independent living, mobility, technology, employment readiness, and more—all tailored to their unique strengths and goals.

The ceremony was a powerful reminder that every student’s journey looks different, and every milestone deserves to be celebrated. Congratulations to this year’s exiting students and their families. We are proud of all that you have accomplished and excited for what comes next.

⭐ Congratulations, STARS graduates! ⭐

It was an honor to certify the John A. Rowland High School (jarowlandhs) Class of 2026 on behalf of the Rowland Unified School District (rowlandusdschools) Board of Education.

Having walked across this very stage 14 years ago, I know firsthand the hard work, perseverance, and dedication these students have invested—not only during the past four years of high school, but throughout their entire K–12 journey.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! I wish you all the best as you begin the next chapter of your lives.

Congratulations to the Telesis Academy of Science and Math (telesis.pto) Promoting Class of 2026!

It was wonderful to join Principal Dr. Jacob Jung and Assistant Principal Cristina Canales for this cherished annual tradition. Students were recognized with GPA-based Presidential Awards, Department Awards, Character Awards, Perfect Attendance honors, and the prestigious Titan of the Year Award.

Telesis will always hold a special place in my heart since I attended middle school here. In fact, I think this was the first middle school promotion ceremony I’ve ever attended—we certainly didn’t have them when I was a student!

It was also great to unexpectedly reconnect with former classmates who are now parents and educators at Telesis. Moments like these remind me that Rowland Unified School District (rowlandusdschools) is truly an incredible place both to work and to raise a family.

Congratulations, Titans, and best of luck in high school!

Had a great time celebrating Read Across America Day at Jellick Elementary (jellick_elementary)!

I had the opportunity to read to Ms. Dominguez’s 1st grade class and Mr. Phillips’s 6th grade class — two very different age groups, but the same enthusiasm for reading 📚

Special thank you to Jellick Office Manager and California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 133 President Emerita Lita Gallo for organizing such a wonderful day, and I’m glad I was able to stop by Mrs. Buck’s 6th grade class to say hello as well.

Moments like these are a great reminder of how important it is to foster a love of reading at every grade level.

Blandford's First Grade grade teacher Helen Kato was surprised by the Rowland Unified School District (rowlandusdschools) Board of Education who stopped by her classroom to thank her for her leadership in initiating and organizing Lauren Sánchez Bezos’s special author visit to the school, as well as her work with Scholastic/Impact Reading.
