To me there is nothing better than to work at a dental clinic. My job is to assist dental providers to diagnose and improve patients dental care needs. As a dental technician, we assist the dentists to ensure the operation proceedings will go smoothly. I am glad to have the opportunity to learn new skills and have the hands-on experience in a dental treatment facility. My next goal is to become a dentist in Navy while working in the ship.
Top memory about your recruiter/ recruiting station:
One of my most memorable moments was during my physical training while being in the Delayed Entry Program in the Navy Recruiting Station Diamond Bar. My recruiter was NC1 Deles who has always showed us the best technique and form to properly excel in our Physical Fitness Test. Unlike other people, my weakest point is push up not running.
In the Beginning, I ONLY did half of a push up within 2 minutes. No kidding. NC1 Deles looked at me and said "count one for you" this time. However, my recruiter never gave me up and always cheered me up until the day I headed to boot camp.
Best thing about the Navy:
For a foreigner, it is a low chance to have friends from different counties. Because of the Navy, I met a group of nice African-American and Mexican friends at A school. We ran for an hour on weekend early morning, studied for exams, and took care of each other as a family. Regardless of different cultures and backgrounds, these friends are still my support especially since I am far from my hometown. I did not have a vehicle for transportation since I transferred to the East coast at the beginning of the month. They picked me up and drove me for a trip to DC. Friendship is the best gift that I got in Navy.
Places you traveled to while in the Navy:
-Great Lakes, Illinois (boot camp)
-San Antonio, Texas (A school/C school)
-Annapolis, Maryland (First command)
Accomplishments in the Navy:
I got my citizenship in a short time and recognized as the Shipmate-of-the-Month by my Command Master Chief. I am proud of being part of this Navy family.
