Round Lake Area B.E.S.T. in a snapshot.
The Mission of B.E.S.T. is to be a coalition of individuals and organizations that networks and collaborates to respond to community needs, promote character-building community-wide and empower community members to positively impact the Round Lake Area by Bringing Everyone’s Strengths Together.
Round Lake Area B.E.S.T. began in 1997 as a grass-roots, multi-sector, community coalition that represents the villages of Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights, Round Lake Park, and Hainesville, Illinois. Recognizing that youth and families today face significant challenges, B.E.S.T. incorporated as a not-for -profit organization in August of 1998. B.E.S.T. is a unique collaboration of schools, social services, law enforcement, public library, park district, various village officials and fire department, civic, business, religious leaders, parents and students. The primary purpose of B.E.S.T. is to advocate for services, programs, and resources that will improve the quality of life for area residents. Volunteer members have a stake in the critical issues facing the Round Lake Area and in the success of their collaborative efforts in the work of the coalition members.
In 2011, Round Lake Area B.E.S.T. was a recipient of a prestigious Governor’s Cup Finalist Award as part of the Governor’s Home Town Award Program in recognition of the Round Lake Area B.E.S.T. Community Empowerment Grants.
