Millage Rate Update: Upcoming Meetings

Recently, Mayor Mary Robichaux announced a proposed millage rate increase (property tax rate) for 2026. The proposed rate is tentative and will be formally voted on by City Council on September 28, 2026. In the meantime, there are several opportunities for residents to learn more, ask questions, and share your thoughts. We encourage you to take part in whichever works best for you.

Here's how you can stay informed and get involved:

📅Mon, Sept. 14, 7:00 p.m. — First Reading at City Council Meeting
City Hall, 38 Hill Street
Millage rate presented as an agenda item, with staff presentation and public comment (five minutes per speaker).

📅Wed, Sept. 16, 6:00–7:30 p.m. — Town Hall
Eagles Nest Church, 2342 Holcomb Bridge Rd.
Brief presentation and public Q & A session dedicated to the millage rate.

📅Mon, Sept. 21, 6:00 p.m. — Public Hearing
City Hall, 38 Hill Street
State-mandated public hearing with opportunity for public comment.

📅Mon, Sept. 28, 7:00 p.m. — Second Reading and Adoption at City Council Meeting
City Hall, 38 Hill Street

🅿️ Parking on the street in downtown Roswell between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.? Your first two hours are on us, but you still have to start a parking session!

Look for the signage near your space, then start your session by scanning the QR code or texting to pay from your phone, or at one of the two payment kiosks (Canton Street and Elizabeth Way, or East Alley) before you head out to shop, eat, or explore.

A moving morning of remembrance in Roswell.

First responders, community members, and City leaders gathered today to mark 25 years since September 11, 2001, honoring the lives lost and the courage of those who answered the call.

One of the ceremony’s most powerful moments was a performance of “Amazing Grace” by Roswell Police Public Information Officer Timothy Lupo.

Congratulations to our August Employee of the Month, Veronica Chaffin! Veronica has been with the City for three years and is an Administrative Specialist II in the Community Development department.

She provides dependable support for four boards, Mayor and Council items, and other key departmental responsibilities. Her attention to detail, accountability, responsiveness, and commitment to excellence make her a trusted resource for both her colleagues and the community.

Veronica is also known for the positive spirit she brings to her department. Whether celebrating coworkers, remembering birthdays, organizing fun activities, or simply making others feel included and appreciated, she helps create a welcoming and supportive workplace. One colleague fittingly described her as the “social glue” of the department.

Roswell Remembers September 11

This morning, the City of Roswell gathered to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

More than 100 community members, first responders, and City leaders came together in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 lives lost, to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who answered the call, and to reflect on a day that forever changed our nation.

Twenty-five years later, Roswell remembers.

🌳 A healthier pond. Better trails. More to enjoy at Roswell Area Park.

Today, the City of Roswell cut the ribbon on the newly improved Roswell Area Park Pond! 🎉

The nearly $3.1 million project gives residents a refreshed community space built for the future, with improved trails, upgraded stormwater infrastructure, a reconstructed pond embankment, new landscaping and native plantings, and habitat improvements that support a healthier pond ecosystem.

It’s another way Roswell’s voter-approved 2022 Bond Program is turning community investment into improvements residents can see, use and enjoy.
