From a Wiphan student to the first person in his family to graduate. 🎓

He joined Wiphan in Grade 6 in 2014. He remembers CBSI lessons, singing with Pastor Aaron and Madam Mubanga, and the mentors who helped shape his early years.

As he grew older, conversations with Pastor Martin and Cynthia, a former Wiphan staff member, helped spark an interest in teaching that eventually became a calling.

The journey wasn’t always easy. Wiphan helped with school fees, books, a Bible, and even a bicycle when the long distance to college made getting to class on time difficult—cutting a walk of more than an hour to about 30 minutes.

Today, he has graduated with his teaching diploma.

“I feel proud of myself. I’m the first in my family with a diploma. I am also the first person to have a graduation in my family. It’s a big moment for me.”

And he’s already looking ahead. He hopes to find work as a teacher, one day open a school to serve underprivileged children, and use another gift he loves—composing gospel hip-hop music—to inspire others.

His message to those who have supported Wiphan through the years is simple:

“I would like to say a heartfelt thanks for the support, care, and trust.”

A little Sunday morning worship from Regina. ❤️

Regina is a Grade 7 student at Wiphan Westbourne who loves to sing and participate in poetry. Her teachers have watched her confidence grow as she has become a strong public speaker, senior prefect, and outstanding student.

In her most recent mock exams, Regina scored an incredible 884 out of 900 marks—the highest score at her school.

We’re so excited to see where Regina’s gifts, determination, and hard work take her next.

As we head into a new school term, Regina is still waiting to be matched with a sponsor. Sponsorship is an opportunity to come alongside her—to encourage her, get to know her, and be part of the community cheering her on as she continues her journey.

Would you walk alongside Regina?

Today is International Letter Writing Day! đź’Ś

At Wiphan, letters are a special part of child sponsorship—but sponsorship is about so much more than exchanging letters.

Pictured here are longtime Wiphan supporters Tom and Robin Boggan Goodrich visiting their sponsored child, Mateo, in Zambia. It was a relationship years in the making, brought together in person for a moment they’ll both remember for a lifetime.

Beyond helping provide for a child’s education and daily needs, sponsorship offers the opportunity to come alongside a child as they grow. For a child who has experienced loss, having someone consistently encourage them, pray for them, and take an interest in their life can reinforce something deeply important: you are seen, you are known, and you matter. And ultimately, we hope that relationship points them to an even greater truth: that they are seen, known, and loved by God.

To all of our Wiphan sponsors, thank you for faithfully showing up in the lives of our children. Your letters matter. Your prayers matter. And your relationship matters. đź’›

There are still children at Wiphan waiting for someone to come alongside them. Could that someone be you?

What if one gift could keep creating opportunity?

Through Wiphan’s Widows Microfinance & Empowerment Program, women receive access to interest-free business capital, practical training, mentorship, financial guidance, discipleship, and ongoing support as they build income-generating businesses.

And the model is designed to keep working: as loans are repaid, those funds return to the program and can be invested again—helping create opportunity for another woman.

Now, through Wiphan’s new widow sponsorship opportunity, you can choose a woman to come alongside through a monthly gift or one-time investment.

Women like Brenda and Jenifer are ready to take their next steps—and are currently waiting for sponsors to come alongside them.

Watch to see how the program works, then meet the women currently seeking sponsorship and choose whose journey you’d like to invest in.

She brings the vision and the work. You help open the door.

One of Wiphan's faithful sponsors, Tammy, shares how sponsoring a child has impacted her life.

Many children are still waiting for a sponsor. Could you be the one to change a child's future?

Our recent visiting mission team embraced every opportunity to serve with open hearts. From home visits and classroom activities to worship, sharing a word on God's creation, encouraging our teachers and staff, spending time with our learners, and celebrating together during a fun-filled decathlon, they reminded our children that they are deeply loved.

Thank you for serving alongside the Wiphan familyđź’š

Some things simply can't be understood from a distance.

You can read about Wiphan's mission, see photos, and hear stories of lives being transformed, but nothing compares to experiencing it firsthand.

Walking through our schools. Hearing hundreds of students worship with joy. Sitting in the homes of families whose lives have been changed. Seeing God's faithfulness at work across Zambia.

Last month, a group of faithful Wiphan supporters traveled to Zambia to witness the ministry firsthand. They didn't just come home with photos, they came home with a deeper understanding of God's work, lasting relationships, and stories they'll never forget.

As you watch this video, we hope you'll catch a glimpse of what they experienced.

Maybe one day you'll experience it, too.

If you've ever considered joining a Wiphan mission trip, we'd love to help you take that first step.

"Come and see what God has done." — Psalm 66:5

Today is World Youth Skills Day.

At Wiphan, we believe education is about preparing young people to thrive, in their faith, in their work, and in their communities.

Through vocational and post-secondary training, students are developing practical skills in fields like agriculture, hospitality, carpentry, tailoring, cosmetology, auto mechanics, and more.

Thank you to every sponsor and supporter who helps make these opportunities possible.

Pictured is one of our recent graduates receiving a toolbox as he begins vocational training.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Uniform Project for providing school uniforms for our primary students in Zambia.

A school uniform is about so much more than clothing. It represents dignity, belonging, and the opportunity for every student to come to school as part of the Wiphan community.

We're incredibly grateful for this partnership and for the lasting impact it continues to make in the lives of our students.
