💙 August EJE Principal Message 💙
As we wrap up the month of August, I want to take a moment to thank you for a wonderful first month of school at Esther Jackson Elementary!
It is hard to believe that we have already completed four weeks of learning together. Throughout the building, routines are being established, relationships are growing, and learning is in full motion. My days have been filled with visiting classrooms, watching students smile, engage in meaningful learning, and build confidence as they settle into a new school year. There is so much joy in seeing our students thrive.
Beyond academics, our students have enjoyed several exciting experiences already. We kicked off the year with our PBIS Boot Camp, where students learned expectations and practiced the skills that help make our school a positive and supportive learning environment. We also had the opportunity to discover our House affiliations, bringing even more excitement, connection, and school spirit to our campus. For those keeping score, I proudly landed in the Yellow House! Curriculum Night was another highlight, providing families the opportunity to connect with teachers and learn more about the exciting year ahead. So much has happened in just four weeks, and we are only getting started!
We also have exciting news to share! Due to our strong enrollment, Esther Jackson Elementary earned an additional first grade teacher. This provides our first grade learners with smaller class sizes and allows us to create even more personalized learning experiences for students. In addition, we have earned an additional paraprofessional position in our KSE program, further strengthening the support we are able to provide for our students. We are grateful for this growth and the opportunities it creates for our school community
As we look ahead to September, we have several reminders:
• Wednesday, September 16: Students are encouraged to wear their favorite college spirit wear or career-themed attire for our monthly AVID College and Career Day.
• Daily Snack Reminder: Please remember to send your child with a healthy snack each day. Our learners work hard, and they get hungry with all the learning and fun happening throughout the day!
• Fall Break: Schools will be closed September 21-25 for Fall Break. We hope your family enjoys this time together to rest, recharge, and make special memories.
Thank you for your partnership and support during this exciting start to the school year. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with your children each day and look forward to all that September will bring.
With gratitude,
Kim Kapella
Principal
