⚽️ As part of the LA Galaxy Soccer Celebration, the City and LA Galaxy will also host free youth soccer clinics, offering local youth opportunities to learn new skills and enhance existing skills through group play, drills and friendly competition. Led by LA Galaxy Youth coaches, these clinics will take place:
🗓June 12 from 3 to 5 p.m.
• 6-10 yrs: FULL
• 11-14 yrs: SPOTS AVAILABLE

🗓June 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lincoln Park (101 Pacific Ave.).
• 6-10 yrs: SPOTS AVAILABLE
• 11-14 yrs: SPOTS AVAILABLE
🥅Available for youth ages 6 to 10 and 11 to 14, these clinics will offer one hour of guided activities and play. After the clinics, participants are encouraged to stick around for the FIFA World Cup 26™ watch party as the United States takes on Paraguay (June 12) and Australia (June 19).

🅿️FREE parking will be available during the duration of the clinics in the Civic Center public parking garage located at 332 W. Broadway.

🎶 The Long Beach Municipal Band Summer Concert Series is back for its 117th season!

Come by and enjoy free summer concerts at five Long Beach parks from June 23–July 31. This year’s theme, Picnics and Pops, celebrates Long Beach history, culture and community with popular hits across the decades.

Pack a picnic, bring blankets and chairs, and enjoy an evening of delightful sounds of the Long Beach Municipal Band under the stars. ✨

💦 Long Beach families made a splash at Water Safety Day!
On Saturday, May 16, Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM), in partnership with the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD), welcomed around 150 community members to Belmont Plaza, King Park and Silverado Park Pools for a fun and educational day focused on water safety.

Participants rotated through interactive stations led by PRM aquatics staff and LBFD Marine Safety lifeguards, where they learned:

🏊 Survival floating & swim evaluations
🛟 Proper life jacket fitting
❤️ Hands-only CPR
📞 How to call 9-1-1
☀️ Sun & beach safety tips
🌊 Water rescue skills & the “sting ray shuffle”

Following the event, families enjoyed free recreational swim at all three pool locations.

This marks the second year PRM and LBFD have partnered to bring Water Safety Day to the Long Beach community, helping residents gain life-saving skills and confidence in and around the water ahead of summer. 🌞

In partnership with Visit Long Beach we are activating the Bixby Park Bandshell for ✨ “Canceled? Never Heard of Her!” with emcee and host Jewels Long Beach.

The event will bring the community and visitors together to celebrate and uplift Long Beach’s LGBTQ+ community.

Do you want to learn how to make your own blanket, scarf or other garment? Register for Beginning Knitting with Abby through the Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine Department!

You’ll become a pro at casting on and binding off AND learn two stitches: knit and purl. Students will select a unique project to complete at the end of the class.

Beginning Knitting takes place Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The current location is Recreation Park at 4900 E. 7th St., Long Beach, CA 90804. Consult Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine for up-to-date location information.
