New squad delivered to Rossford Fire Department today. I want to thank my fellow council members who agreed with the Safety Committee recommendation for replacement. A great effort to show fiscal and legislative responsibility. The old box was removed, refurbished and remounted on a new chassis/drive train. Overall cost was less than half of purchasing a complete new vehicle.

A heartfelt thank you to all those who responded to our pleas for help. We unloaded and loaded over 46,000 gallons of water. Could not have done it without your help. Shout out to the fire department explorers, high school football and wrestling teams. A special thanks to Michelle Greer Krotzer who was a workhorse out shining the youngest workers there. Get some rest. It is well deserved. You did Rossford proud today.

Rossford's tax deadline has been extended to April 21, 2014 due to the technical difficulties experienced on the RITA website for those attempting to file online. Forms to file on paper are available at City Offices and the library.

With all the snow we have received, I request you take some extra time to clear the fire hydrants near your home. It not only allows the firefighters to locate them in an emergency, but allows for a faster hookup and attack of any possible structure fire.

Rossford residents: Waste Management will be back in the city today and tomorrow to pick up recycling they were unable to get because of the snow and limited working trucks. They will be playing catchup again next week as well. Thank you for your patience!
