The wait is over! Medic 29 is now in service!

Chief Syroka, Battalion Chief Yingling, Mayor MacKinnon, and the A-Shift crew pushed our new apparatus into the station this afternoon in ceremony to mark its official entry into service.

🩸🚑 A Major Step Forward for Emergency Medical Care in Northwest Ohio!

Rossford Fire & Rescue would like to thank Perrysburg Township Fire Chief Tom Brice for training our Fire/EMS crews on recognizing patients who may need an emergency blood transfusion and the equipment used to provide this life-saving treatment.

Perrysburg Township Fire/EMS recently became the first Fire/EMS-based provider in Northwest Ohio to carry pre-hospital blood products. Even better, this resource will be available to surrounding departments, including bringing blood products directly to emergency scenes in the City of Rossford.

When severe bleeding occurs, every minute matters. Having blood available before a patient reaches the hospital can make a critical, life-saving difference.

This is regional cooperation at its best—departments training together, sharing resources, and working together to provide better and faster emergency care throughout Northern Wood County.
