Last Thursday, our crews had a great time stopping by Venice Presbyterian Preschool! 🚒

The kids got to tour the fire truck, check out some of our equipment and gear, and learn a little more about what firefighters do every day.

We always enjoy getting out into the community and spending time with our youngest residents. Thank you to Venice Presbyterian Preschool for having us! ❤️🚒

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us also take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the day and remember those who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸

From all of us, we thank our fallen heroes and their families for their sacrifice. We will never forget.

What better way to wrap up Field Day than with a little help from the fire department! 🚒💦

Today, crews stopped by Elda Elementary School to help the students cool off and celebrate an awesome Field Day. The kids had a blast getting sprayed down and ending the day soaked, smiling, and full of energy!

Thank you to the staff at Elda Elementary for having us out — we always enjoy spending time with our community and making memories with the kids! ☀️🚒

On May 12th, our Board of Trustees, administration officials, Ross Fire Department, Ross Police Department, and Public Works Division participated in a high-level tabletop discussion facilitated by Jim Bolin from the Butler County Emergency Management Agency.

The discussion focused on emergency preparedness, interagency coordination, and strengthening our response capabilities during large-scale incidents affecting our community. Exercises like these are an important part of ensuring all departments can work together efficiently and effectively when critical situations arise.

We appreciate everyone who took part in the discussion and thank Butler County EMA and Jim Bolin for providing valuable insight and guidance throughout the exercise.

Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming John Martin, a retired firefighter from San Bernardino County, California, to Station 101 during his bicycle ride across the country in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of September 11th.

Mr. Martin began his ride on September 11, 2025, at the Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Colorado Springs, and plans to finish on September 11, 2026. His mission is to ride one mile for each person who lost their life on 9/11 — nearly 3,000 miles total.

Each day, he rides 9.11 miles and dedicates that day to a firefighter who died on September 11th. At every fire department he visits, he presents a dog tag honoring one of those heroes. He is also placing a dog tag on a local sign post in each town he stops in, bearing the name of someone who lost their life that day.

We are grateful Mr. Martin chose to stop in Ross Township and share his mission with us. His journey is a powerful reminder to never forget the lives lost, the sacrifices made, and the heroes who answered the call on 9/11.
