🎪📚 Spanger Reading Carnival — Volunteers Needed! 📚🎪

The Spanger PTC is getting ready for our Spanger Reading Carnival on Friday, September 25, and we need our amazing Spanger families to help make it happen!

To celebrate the end of our Read-a-thon, students will visit the carnival with their classes during the school day for games, treats, prizes, and lots of fun! 🎉

We need volunteers to help run stations including popcorn, cotton candy, popsicles, ring toss, ball toss, Plinko, temporary tattoos, an egg relay, board games, and more!

⭐ You do NOT need to be Level 2 cleared to volunteer for this event!

🙌 We need all hands on deck! Whether you can help with a game, serve a treat, or run an activity, we would love to have you join us and help make this a special celebration for our Spartans.

🛡️ Friday Shield Pull Winners! 🛡️

Another Friday means another round of Shield Pull winners! 🎉

Our Spartans have been working hard all week to earn shields by showing what it means to be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible around campus. Each shield earned is another chance to have their name pulled on Friday and choose a fun prize!

Congratulations to this week’s winners! 👏 We love seeing that shield tower fill up and watching our students make great choices each and every day.

🌟 RCSD Superintendent & Board of Education President Visit Spanger! 🌟

Last week, we were excited to welcome Superintendent Garcia and RCSD Board of Education President Cami Walker to Spanger Elementary!

During their visit, they toured classrooms, connected with our students, joined in on classroom activities, and even showed off their dance moves with our TK students! 💃🕺

We loved having them on campus and giving them a glimpse into all the learning, laughter, and fun happening at Spanger each day. Thank you for spending time with our students and staff! 💙🧡

🛡️ SHIELD PULL FRIDAY! 🛡️

Last Friday, our Spartans were SO excited for our first Shield Pull of the year! 🎉

Throughout the week, students earn shields for showing our Spartan expectations by being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible! Each student gets to add their earned shields to their classroom tub, and every Friday at lunch, Mr. K pulls shields to select some lucky Spartans to choose a fun prize! ⭐

We love seeing our students recognized for making positive choices and showing what it means to be a Spartan each and every day.

Keep it up, Spartans! Let’s see how full we can get that Shield Tower this year! 🛡️💙🧡

🎉 Happy Birthday to our amazing principal, Mr. K!🎉

Today, we had the opportunity to celebrate a very special birthday here at Spanger Elementary! 💙🧡 Our thoughtful Spartans helped make the day extra special by creating personal birthday cards for our principal.

We love seeing the kindness, creativity, and thoughtfulness our students show to the people who make Spanger such a wonderful place to learn and grow. We hope he felt extra celebrated today!

🎲 Calling all Spartan families!🎲

Our PTC is launching a brand-new **After-School Board Game Club** this year, and we need your help stocking our game shelves!

Before you buy new, take a peek in your game cabinet! We are collecting new or gently used board games that our Spartans can enjoy during Board Game Club. Some games we’re looking for include UNO, Jenga, Connect 4, Guess Who?, Trouble, Yahtzee, Mancala, Battleship, Scrabble Junior, Apples to Apples, and more!

✨ Please make sure donated games are complete with all pieces and cards.

📍 Donations can be dropped off in the school office
📅 Donations accepted through August 31

Board Game Club will offer two sessions this year—one in the fall and one in the spring —giving both our younger and older elementary students a chance to join in the fun!

Clean out those game cabinets and help us build an awesome collection for our Spartans! 💙🧡
