๐Ÿค Itโ€™s National Co-Responder Week โ€” and weโ€™re proud to recognize the Roseville Police Departmentโ€™s Behavioral Health Unit (BHU).

BHU brings together public safety, behavioral health, and housing expertise to respond to some of the most complex needs in our community โ€” from mental health crises and homelessness to substance use. The team also provides follow-up, care planning, and connections to resources long after the initial call.

๐Ÿ“ˆ In 2025, CAT assisted with 1,376 calls โ€” a 52.2% increase from 2024. So far in 2026, the team has assisted with 565 calls, serving over 415 Roseville residents.

But behind every number is a person who needed help.

This is public safety with a broader lens โ€” meeting people where they are, building trust, finding solutions, and connecting people with the support they need.

Sometimes the best response isnโ€™t just answering the call. Itโ€™s helping change what happens next.

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation experienced a tragedy that would forever change our country and the fire service.

On September 11, 2001, 2,977 people lost their lives, including 343 members of the FDNY who responded when they were needed most.

Today, Roseville Fire Department joins fire departments across the country in remembering the lives lost, honoring those who answered the call, and recognizing the countless first responders who served in the days, weeks, and months that followed.

For 25 years, the fire service has carried a simple promise:

Never Forget.

Today, our flag flies in their memory.

Nearly three tons of clothing was donated and redistributed through the Roseville Clothing Swap, which served approximately 500 people during the two-day event! ๐Ÿ‘•๐Ÿ‘–

An estimated 80โ€“90% of the donated clothing was taken by participants and given a new home.

The remaining clothing was also put to use. Two pickup loads were donated to Sharing & Caring Hands and one pickup load to Sock Drawers, both nonprofits that provide clothing free of charge to people experiencing homelessness.

Thank you to everyone who donated clothing and participated in the swap, helping keep thousands of pounds of usable clothing out of the landfill and in the community!

Important update! Minnesotaโ€™s school bus stopping law has changed. ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ›‘

You must stop at least 20 feet from a school bus whenever its RED lights are flashing โ€” even if the stop arm hasnโ€™t been extended yet.

๐Ÿšจ On regular, undivided roads, traffic in BOTH directions must stop.

๐Ÿšจ On divided roads with a median or barrier, only traffic on the same side of the median as the bus must stop.

๐Ÿš“ A first violation can result in a $500 fine, and illegally passing a school bus when a child is outside can lead to serious criminal charges.

๐ŸšŒ Back to School = A Quick Reminder for Our Neighbors

School is back, and so are the buses โ€” making about 10,000 trips a day across Minnesota. ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ“š Keeping those rides safe is something we all have a role in.

๐Ÿšจ One important update: Minnesotaโ€™s school bus stopping law has changed.

You must stop at least 20 feet from a school bus whenever its RED lights are flashing โ€” even if the stop arm hasnโ€™t been extended yet.

Hereโ€™s the quick rundown:

๐Ÿ›‘ On regular, undivided roads, traffic in BOTH directions must stop.

๐Ÿ›‘ On divided roads with a median or barrier, only traffic on the same side of the median as the bus must stop.

๐Ÿ’ฐ A first violation can result in a $500 fine, and illegally passing a school bus when a child is outside can lead to serious criminal charges.

But the real goal isnโ€™t the fine or the law. Itโ€™s making sure every child who gets on or off a school bus can count on the cars around them to stop.

So as the school year gets underway, please slow down, stay alert around school buses and bus stops, and give our kids a little extra space. ๐Ÿ‘€

Letโ€™s work together to make sure every student gets to and from school safely. ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸšŒ

It was a fantastic evening filled with community pride, friendly competition, and plenty of fun. In the end, Roseville Police came out on top, taking home the coveted Breaching Ram Trophy! ๐Ÿ†

Thanks to everyone who came out to cheer on our first responders. Weโ€™ll see you at the next Battle of the Badges! ๐ŸŒน๐ŸฅŽ
