🚒 Great Day of Training! 🚒

Today was a great day of fire training as firefighters from across the area came together for Ohio Fire Academy Pump Operations 1 training.

A total of 20 firefighters participated, representing the departments of:

* Crooksville Fire Department
* Roseville Fire Department
* Newton Township Fire Department
* South Zanesville Fire Department
* Harrison Township Fire Department
* Genoa Township Fire Department

Training like this helps strengthen our skills, improve teamwork, and ensure we are prepared to provide the best service possible to the communities we serve.

A special thank you goes out to the Roseville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 71 for providing lunch for all of the firefighters. Your support is greatly appreciated and helped make the day a success!

We are proud of the dedication shown by everyone who attended and continue to value the partnerships between our neighboring departments

Today, 5/16/26 at approximately 1030 hours a Roseville Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter was driving Crooksville Fire Department Medic 216 to assist them.

Our member was driving emergency status to the Genesis Hospital when they were involved in a minor injury accident on Underwood St at I70. Thankfully this resulted in minor injuries, though it could have been much worse.

The accident remains under investigation by the Zanesville Police Department. No further details to be released.

Roseville American Legion Post 71 will be conducting a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Sunday, June 14th at 1pm. Flag Retirement Ceremonies are the dignified, respectful method of disposing of worn or damaged American flags, typically involving burning them in a fire.

The ceremony will take place in the parking lot of the community food pantry on Main Street directly across the street from Patriot Park. If you have flags needing to be retired they can be taken to the Roseville Legion prior to June 14th.

Post 71 invites the public to attend. Hot dog and hamburger sandwiches and water will be provided. Information and applications regarding joining the American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Son's of the American Legion will be available.

The 100th anniversary of Forest L. Mumford American Legion Post 71 is September 15, 2026! There will be items of merchandise on display that commemorate this anniversary on June 14 with the possibility of some items being available for sale.
