California Fire Mechanics Academy, Inc. The California Fire Mechanics Academy Inc. is the oldest and largest Emergency Vehicle Technician training academy in the US.

The CFMA currently conducts a one week academy in the Spring in Sacramento California and a mini Fall academy at Ben Clark Training Center in Riverside California. State Fire Certified training is offered as well as other localized training opportunities.

Another Spring Academy comes to an end. This year we had an amazing student turn out. They were engaged and eager to learn. The instructors were impressed with all of their classes and locations… here’s some interesting facts of the CFMA’s Spring Academy..

6,872 Training Hours Completed
232 Students
16 Instructors
11 Volunteers / Helpers
9 CFMA Board Members
2 Office Administrators

And these stats do not include the many hours of test review, printing, instructor class prep, phone calls, meetings and ordering of products to make our Academies happen. The CFMA would like to extend a huge “Thank You” to our many instructors, volunteers, State OES partners, SacMetro Fire, Sacramento City Fire, Cosumnes Fire, CalFire, State Fire Training, staff at our offsite locations and Sheetmetal Shop, who step up year after year to help us put both the Spring and Fall Academies on. Without your assistance we would not be able to bring the quality of an Academy that we do.
To our students, we also say “Thank You” for attending, without you we would not be here!
We now begin preparation for the Fall Academy which will be in Southern Ca at Ben Clark Training Center. Please follow our social media pages and watch the website for updates on when registration will

The CFMA’s Ca. Emergency Equipment Show was a hit this year. Had a great turn out from all of our vendors who supported the show with beautiful apparatus and an array of emergency equipment. The CFMA would like to say “Thank You” to each of our vendors who come year after year to support this show. We would also like to say “Welcome” to those businesses who this is their first time attending, we look forward to welcoming you back next year!

Hi Techs hospitality night was a special one because there was a special person getting honored this night. One of our instructors, Bob Maruyama , was the CFMA’s Honoree of the Year. Bob has been with the Academy for over 20 years and has always been there to help our students. He goes above and beyond to make sure he connects with each and every student.
Congratulations Bob! Job Well Done!

Day three was heavy into Hands on Training! Students worked thru pump testing, pump tear down and various applications.
Students were very engaged with each evolution and the instructors were happy how things ran thru the day.
