Roseville will be expecting a new addition to the community, a community garden! Thanks to the Progress Club, Roseville Community Center, Perry County Health Department, Roseville Elementary Schoo, Perry County Metropolitan Housing and the Village of Roseville, we are able to open the garden up to the community. A community garden in a great way for families and individuals to get involved in our

city. Our community garden will have ten gardening plots where you can plant flower, fruit, and vegetables. In order to obtain a plot there is a gardening fee. This fee includes an organic gardening bed with soil, water usage, and an overall deposit for a gardening plot. If you are interested purchasing a plot or if you have any questions please contact Heidi Milner or visit the Municipal Building.

GARDENING SEED GIVEAWAY!

On May 9th at Brighton Presbyterian Church will be having a seed giveaway of both plants and vegetables. All is first come first served, so don't miss out!

In order to obtain a garden plot there is a fee of $35.

This fee includes: a garden plot with soil, water usage, and a deposit that will be returned at the end of the season.

One way to participate in the community garden is by helping us make the garden ours. There's nothing like decorating and making a space feel like home. If you have any ideas that you think would be a great suit for our garden please let us know.

If you are interested in getting involved in planning or even constructing the community garden; there will be a monthly meeting at 5:30 pm at the Garden where we will be discussing the community garden's progress, updates and other happenings. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to participate!

Wondering what you are allowed plant, it's totally up to you! If you would like to plant a flower garden or are interested planting a fruit or vegetable, do as you please. You can pick up a garden application and purchase a plot at the Municipal Building located in Downtown Roseville.

A community garden is a great way for your children to learn wonderful and new things about plants, the environment and is a great way for them to use their math skills. If you are interested in purchasing a plot please contact the Municipal Building or stop by and speak to Heidi Milner.

It is best to begin planting by May 15 of each year! Don't hesitate, stop by or call the Municipal building to learn about the community garden and how you can be involved today.
