The Appreciation Committee still exists as an active non-profit organization.

Our mission statement is as follows;

The Parvin State Park Appreciation Committee, Inc. a dedicated group of volunteers, organized as a 501 (C) (3) charitable corporation was formed in 1983 and has evolved into a very proactive group which promotes and advocates for the betterment of Parvin State Park and preserve its rich history.

The public should be made aware that the State Park Service decided that they no longer needed a "Friends" group at the park and would not negotiate or renew the lease for the Danna property, which resulted in the narrow minded idea to demolish the buildings on the property this Spring.

The State Park Service does not care about its volunteers, as they ordered us off the property during National Volunteer week 2024.

Sad day in the parks history. The Danna house which was sold to the state for public purposes, was torn down today due to short sighted Park management. This building could have been repurposed for some other needed function in the park.

More to come in the upcoming days on the current status of the Committee and its volunteers.

Since the start of the gubernatorial race, OTNJ has contacted all candidates to learn their positions on road access in Wharton.
