Election Day PSA
Bipartisan Fort Bend County Election Security Task Force
At the heart of a successful democratic society is an open and fair election that reflects the free expression of the will of the people. At the heart of a successful government is the right to vote and be heard in a fair and transparent election process.
Over 327,000 votes have already been cast in Fort Bend County, a new record and one of the highest turnout rates in Texas. However, there are many registered voters who have not voted yet.
The early voting period ended on Friday, October 30th. Therefore, the last opportunity to vote during this election period is on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd.
The Bipartisan Fort Bend County Election Security Task Force encourages every Fort Bend citizen who is registered to vote to exercise their right to do so.
Please be advised that if you have not yet voted and you have an Absentee/Mail-in Ballot:
1) Hand delivery to Elections Office: You may deposit your marked ballot at the drop-off location at the Rosenberg Annex at 4520 Reading Road, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Please note that a valid photo ID is required to drop off a marked ballot and voters may ONLY drop off their OWN ballots; or
2) Vote in person: In order to vote in person, you should take the Mail-in Ballot with you to an Election Day polling site and turn it over to the election officials at the polling location. An authorized election official will cancel the mail-in ballot and then allow you to vote in person. If you forget to bring your Mail-in Ballot with you, election officials will still allow you to vote in person. However, the process will take longer because an election official will be required to verify your mail-in ballot information before permitting you to vote in person.
The Bipartisan Fort Bend County Election Security Task Force is committed to protecting the integrity of the election process and the ability of registered voters to exercise their right to vote by investigating any allegations regarding violations of the Texas Election Code and will prosecute such violations where sufficient evidence is obtained to support a conviction. The Elections Hotline, 832-471-1374, is the starting point for such complaints.
The right to Free Speech belongs to each of us as citizens. Sometimes political campaigns use speech and messages that are antagonistic and hurtful. Remember that no matter what speech is directed towards you, you are solely in control of how your vote will be exercised in the privacy of the election booth.
There will be 86 Election Day polling places located throughout the county. A Fort Bend County resident may vote at ANY of these locations on Election Day, November 3, 2020. To see these voting locations click the link below:
