Thank You for Making Our October Seminar a Success!

The Illinois Association of Environmental Professionals (IAEP) extends a big thank you to everyone who joined us for “Due Diligence Horror Stories”—an engaging discussion on the hidden risks that can derail property transactions. We’re grateful to our expert panelists for sharing their insights and real-world experiences, and to our event sponsors, A3 Environmental Consultants and LightBox, for their support!

- Jim Depa (Jacob & Hefner Associates, Inc.) demonstrated how 3D subsurface visualizations uncover buried surprises no one wants to find.
- Larry Falbe (Miller Canfield) reminded us that skipping compliance can lead straight to the courtroom.
- Maria Smith (Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc.) connected archaeology and NEPA compliance, proving history matters in deals.
- Robert Sliwinski (Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd.) highlighted ecological factors—like endangered species—that can stall closings.

The stories were eye-opening, the Q&A dynamic, and the networking afterward invaluable. Thank you to all attendees for making this event a success—we look forward to seeing you at future IAEP programs!

USACE WOTUS Update 2025

NEW DATE!

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16, 2025

We regret to announce that our event originally planned for March 18th, which was to include a presentation by a representative from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) regarding the update on the Waters of the United States, will need to be postponed.

This decision is due to ongoing uncertainties surrounding the federal budget and the possibility of furloughs that may impact our speaker's availability on the scheduled date.

To facilitate a successful event with our speaker present, we have moved the presentation to April 16th, from 8:00 to 10:00 AM.

All existing registrations will be valid for the new date.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time, and we look forward to welcoming you in April for this significant update.

Please stay tuned for additional information as the event date approaches.
