The Roselle Public Works Department will begin fall hydrant flushing on September 14. Flushing will take place Monday through Thursday from 7:30a.m. to 2:30p.m. Public Works will place signs at major intersections as they move throughout town. The flushing schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions or emergencies.

Hydrant flushing is routine maintenance. Crews flush hydrants to remove mineral deposits that have accumulated over time, which improves water flow, reduces corrosion and water color problems, and ensures hydrants are operating properly in case of emergencies.

Water is safe to drink during hydrant flushing. During hydrant flushing, you may temporarily notice discolored water, which is caused by iron deposits, or cloudy water, which is caused by harmless air bubbles. If you are experiencing discoloration, run your water for a few minutes until it runs clear. To protect your laundry from any potential stains, refrain from doing laundry while flushing is underway and check your water's clarity and color before starting a load.

Clarke is conducting a Bloomingdale Township-wide adult mosquito control application this evening, September 8, 2026, due to multiple WNV-positive mosquito samples collected within the Township (which includes Roselle).

Bloomingdale Township residents can sign up for mosquito spray notifications, or report standing water or nuisance mosquito activity, on Clarke's website at https://www.clarkeportal.com/hotline

Labor Day Reminder: garbage pickup is delayed by one day next week due to the Labor Day (Sept. 7) holiday! Tuesday pickups will be collected on Wednesday, Sept. 9 and Wednesday pickups will be collected on Thursday, Sept. 10.
