Congratulations to our Navy Football team, coaches, staff, and the entire Brigade of Midshipmen on a dominant start earning the sweet smell of victory over the Towson Tigers!

Always a great time to motivate alongside our Brigade and more special to rock pushups and motivate alongside our Acting SECNAV and ‘96 Grad, Honorable Hung Cao!

POV: You’re looking through the eyes of an Attack Drone!🎯⚓️🔥

For the first time, a midshipman successfully executed a simulated attack drone mission in support of an Academy formal parade, bringing a new warfighting capability from the classroom and training range to the Yard.

MIDN 3/C Derek Benkowski, piloted the drone in this video, graduated from the 2d Marine Division Attack Drone Operator Course just last month. Today, he put that training into action in front of Acting SecNav and thousands others. No pressure!

The future of warfare is already here. We’re training our warfighters to lead it.

Parade did not disappoint! 🇺🇸⚓️

Our mids executed with precision and pride, and we were honored to have Acting Secretary of the Navy, Hung Cao, USNA ‘96, and our newest Distinguished Graduate Award recipients as our guests of honor:

Also honored to have the Honorable Mike Johnson, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives supporting our Midshipmen.

And then we took it to another level…

For the first time ever, a Neros Attack drone was launched from a Yard Patrol craft on the Severn, flew to the parade, and executed a simulated kinetic strike on a Beat Army banner.

The Brigade is Reformed, Focused and Fired up! 🔥🇺🇸

Thurs night, we brought the full Brigade back together…no more “old school” reform briefs. We intro’d Walk out moto…Drones Flying for first time in Alumni Hall, and Mids showing off their innovative autonomous systems and Capstone projects.

We introduced the new Commandant of Midshipman, CAPT Cornell to the entire Brigade, showed the real world ops executed with our YPs as Motherships for unmanned systems this summer, and showed how we are integrating drones into our parade formations. Our Mids that flew drones inside crushed it as they briefed how they’re getting after robotic and autonomous research to attack real world problems.

Brigade formed and ready to make this an Epic year!

Marching into the future 🫡 Worden Field just got a little more autonomous. 

Today, the Class of 2030 made history while their proud parents, family and friends looked on. 

For the first time, unmanned aerial systems, piloted by our Plebes, joined the Brigade of Midshipmen in a formal parade formation, bringing emerging technology directly into one of our most time-honored traditions.

We will continue to honor the traditions that define us, while relentlessly preparing our midshipmen for the future fight. The tools of warfare are changing, and our future officers must be ready to lead alongside unmanned systems, autonomy and other emerging technologies. 💪🇺🇸⚓️

Also meaningful to have my NAPS ‘87 and USNA ‘91 classmate, RADM Rich Brophy, as our Parade Guest of Honor along with our link in the chain USNA ‘80 grad, CDR (ret) Janie Mines, representing. Plebe Parents Weekend is on fire. 🔥

Plebe Summer is tough, exactly as it’s designed to be. And this morning’s Parents Weekend PEP was no exception. 💪🇺🇸

A hard, motivating workout made even more meaningful by the many Plebe parents who woke up early to watch the sun rise over the Severn and cheer their Plebes on. ☀️⏰

The energy was incredible. The motivation was contagious. And that War Face chant executed perfectly by our Proud Parents was…LOUD! 🔥🫡

Congratulations, Moms, you sounded louder than the Dads! 😂🔥
