In 2008, United Way initiated a 10-year program designed to achieve the following goals by 2018:

Improve education, and cut the number of high school dropouts — 1.2 million students, every year — in half. Help people achieve financial stability, and get 1.9 million working families — half the number of lower-income families who are financially unstable — on the road to economic independence. Promote healthy lives, and increase by one-third the number of youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors. Our goals are ambitious, but with your help, and by utilizing our core strengths — a national network, committed partners and public engagement capacity — we can achieve them. What an incredible morning! 🌅

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support Greater Douglas United Way at our 72nd Annual Vintage Giving Campaign kickoff breakfast! We were blown away by the amazing turnout and the overwhelming generosity of our community.

This event wouldn't have been possible without our wonderful partners:

As Greater Douglas United Way looks back at our roots this year, we found this absolute gem from 1991! Yes, that’s the legend himself—Dave Johnson—chipping a golf ball directly off Bill Hubel’s face. Talk about absolute confidence (and trust)!

Dave Johnson was a driving force for our community, which is why our annual Dave Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament proudly carries his name today. It remains one of our most prominent and favorite fundraising events of the year!
