Please help us congratulate Firefighter Blake McDonell on passing his National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT)!

All the hard work, countless hours of studying, and long hours of clinicals have officially paid off. We are proud of the dedication and effort he has put into better serving our community.

With Blake’s certification, the department now has 3 certified EMTs and continues to slowly grow our capabilities to better serve the citizens of Roscoe and surrounding areas.

Congratulations Blake! 💪🏻🚒

Join us as we honor our veterans this Saturday.

Since 1989, this tradition has taken hundreds of thousands of bikers from coast to coast, riding to Washington DC to honor our veterans and POWs. The “Run for the Wall” event comes straight through Roscoe every year.

For many of those years, Roscoe has honored these riders and their mission by posting colors on the Duncan Hastings Bridge as they pass by.

We welcome anyone who wants to join us! Please bring a flag if you have it, or just a smile and a wave. Park safely off the roadway along CR 135 and join us on the bridge. Please walk carefully as you make your way up the bridge.

The riders are expected to pass through Roscoe after 11am.

Joint Training - RTO Custom Ag

This evening, we were joined by members of Lake Sweetwater VFD for some joint training provided by RTO Custom Ag. Members from both departments started at Avenger Field where they got a first-hand look at agriculture spraying aircraft and learned about how to safely operate around them in an emergency. Then, a familiar sight for many. A close up look at a cotton stripper, demonstrating some safety features and approaches.

This training is the first in a long time where more than one VFD in Nolan County has joined up to learn and grow to better serve our communities.

We thank Mr. Orman and everyone from RTO for this unique opportunity and to our partners at Lake Sweetwater VFD for joining us.
