Today, we would like to honor the passing of one of our founding members, Frankie Hudson. Mr. Hudson passed away on May 15th.

Rosa Fire would like to extend our deepest sympathy, thoughts, and prayers to his wife, Melinda, and the entire Hudson family during this difficult time.

Many years have passed since Mr. Hudson’s service to our community, but the foundation he and many others built continues to stand strong today through the pride, dedication, and commitment of our current members.

He was always proud to see how the department had grown over the years and often shared encouraging words and support with us on Facebook.

Rest easy, Mr. Hudson, and thank you for your service, dedication, and lasting impact on our department and community.

We are up and going this early Saturday morning, taking care of some administrative tasks, and other small items to make sure we are always ready to answer the call for service.

Everyone have a safe and blessed Memorial Day weekend. Remember it’s more than BBQ, time at the lake, and all the other great things we enjoy on this long weekend.

Our freedom was purchased by the courage and sacrifice of those who gave everything for this country. This Memorial Day, we honor and remember them.

The heart of any volunteer fire department is its people. I am extremely grateful, blessed, and proud of our small department and every member who has chosen to serve this community with dedication and compassion. In a very short time, our members, alongside the Mayor and Town Council of Rosa, have accomplished so much — but we are not stopping here.

The fire and EMS service is constantly evolving. It takes continuous training, preparation, and commitment to ensure our personnel are ready and our trucks are stocked, equipped, and prepared to answer the next call for help. Every call, every training night, and every act of service reflects the heart of this department and the pride we take in protecting our community.

We are also blessed to be surrounded by neighboring fire departments that never hesitate to answer when mutual aid is needed. While there are too many to list individually, please know we are deeply grateful for your support, teamwork, and willingness to stand beside us. We are always ready to return that same support whenever your communities need us.

Over the past several months, we have also been uplifted by the incredible support of churches, local businesses, and individuals throughout our community. Donations and grants have played a major role in helping us acquire much-needed equipment and resources that allow us to serve more effectively and safely. Your support truly makes a difference.

Rosa Fire Department is always looking for individuals who are willing to serve and stand with us. No experience or training is required — we will walk alongside you, provide the knowledge and training you need, and help you grow into something both you and this community can be proud of.

If you are interested in becoming a member, helping with fundraising efforts, or supporting our mission in any way, please reach out to us by message. We have many goals, dreams, and plans ahead — not only for our members, but for the future of our department and the community we proudly serve.

From the Chiefs and members who have served before us laying and building the foundation, we carry the legacy forward with pride.

Small Department. Big Heart, proudly serving our community.

EMS is an ever evolving world, which requires every service to stay at the forefront of skills and knowledge. Rosa Fire would like to thank all of the agencies in which we cross paths with in our calling, from our local ambulance provider, to our aeromedical services, to our mutual aid fire departments. We are thankful for the brotherhood and sisterhood in serving our communities and answer our calling to render aid to those in need.

Today Rosa Fire Department received notification from the National Volunteer Fire Council that we have been awarded the 2026 Emergency Drinking Water grant.

Our department has been awarded one (1) pallet of canned drinking water(2,352 cans). This grant is a combined partnership between the NVFC and Anheuser-Busch brewery.

Our little department is extremely blessed and grateful for this awarded grant. Our members work hard each and everyday to serve our community and those communities around us.

For decades, Rosa Fire Department has been built on a strong foundation of community members dedicated to serving and protecting their neighbors. That foundation remains strong today, with several original members still actively serving within the department.

Although we are a small department, we have a deep commitment to the citizens of Rosa and the surrounding communities of Blount County. Currently, our department consists of 12 dedicated members .Our department is able to provide Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) emergency medical services and fire suppression services.

While we may not frequently post photos or updates, our members are continually working behind the scenes to improve through training, equipment maintenance, preparedness, and service to the community. We are also proud to support our neighboring departments whenever mutual aid is requested.

At this time,I am instructing an EMT-Basic class though BREMSS/ Alabama Department of EMS,consisting of 19 men and women who have chosen to further serve their communities and potentially pursue careers in public safety. We are especially proud that four of those students are members of Rosa Fire Department. This class will conclude in August.

We are always seeking dedicated volunteers who want to serve our department and help continue the mission established by the elected officials, fire chiefs, and community leaders who came before us. We remain committed to building upon that legacy through ongoing training, pursuing grant opportunities for updated equipment, and ensuring our apparatus and resources are ready to respond at a moment’s notice.

Several important projects are currently in development as we work to secure funding, including the purchase of NFPA-compliant P25 handheld radios, the construction of a lighted concrete helicopter landing pad behind our annex building, and other critical improvements that will enhance our ability to serve the community.

To the fire departments surrounding Rosa: we stand ready to assist whenever needed. To the citizens of Rosa: thank you for your continued support and trust. It is an honor and privilege to proudly serve this community.

Today is the day.

We are proud to officially kick off our 2026 EMS Academy.

Nineteen students from multiple counties are beginning their journey into public safety—taking their first steps toward becoming EMT-Basics and working toward National Registry certification. This isn’t just a class… it’s the start of something bigger.

For years, we had the privilege of teaching this program, and today, many of those former students are serving full-time as firefighters and EMTs—making a difference in their communities every single day. Seeing where they are now is a reminder of why this matters.

That’s what makes today even more meaningful.
We are honored and excited to bring this opportunity back—to invest in the next group, to challenge them, to grow them, and to help shape the future of emergency services.

To our 2026 class:
This journey won’t be easy—but it will be worth it. Stay committed, stay humble, and never lose sight of why you started.

Their future in public safety starts today. 🚑🔥

Rosa Fire is humbled and extremely grateful for Dailey’s Chapel Church for the invite to the Community Picnic.

As the Fire Chief, the soul of a volunteer fire department is not just the members who respond to calls, but the community members themselves. Today we were able to share our mission and equipment to the public.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you for the monetary donations made today, and also the huge donation of water to our department by Dailey’s Chapel Church members. We have over 50 cases of water to be used for hydrating firefighters on scene.

I would also like to say a special thank you to my Aunt Becky Hobson from California for her donation of water and gatorade. Even from a distance she always supports her favorite nephew( hahaha)

From the bottom of my heart, and from all the members of Rosa Fire…….Thank You!!!!!

Jessie the FireDawg thanks everyone as well for the chicken and BBQ meat everyone secretly gave to him as well.
