Winter is here!

To maintain the safety of our dedicated DPW staff and ensure the streets are cleared efficiently for all residents, the winter parking Ordinance will be strictly enforced. This will include Citations and possible vehicle impoundment in accordance with State Law. These areas specifically include but are not limited to W Broadway and W Summit. Please be a good neighbor and ensure our plows can clear the roads.

Per RP Local Ordinance Sec. 30-31:
“A person shall not stop, stand, or park a vehicle on any improved, defined and marked parking lane or bike path from 2:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. during the period of December 1 through April 1 of each year.”

Please contact RPPD with any questions.

Public Service Announcement from your friends at the Roosevelt Park Police Department.

While it is almost the fall season, the weather is still warm and there are still people roaming the streets looking for "targets of opportunity". Lock your car doors! We’ve had an increase in auto burglaries recently and all of them are to unlocked vehicles. Thieves typically go driveway to driveway looking for unlocked cars. If they find a locked car they move on until they find an unlocked one. The simple act of locking your car can decrease your chances of becoming a victim.

Thieves have stolen money, wallets, purses, and other valuable items. Please be vigilant of your surroundings & keep your valuables out of view.

Lastly - if you see something, say something! If you notice suspicious activity give Muskegon County Central Dispatch a call a (231) 722-3524 (for non emergencies), or 911 for all emergencies. We’re here 24/7
