A Message from our Superintendent

Sailor Families-

We are less than 2 weeks from the first day of school. Information continues to come at an incredible pace. The overall message should be clear by now, we are ready for our students to be back. Whether distance learning from home or in-person learning was the choice your family made we will be ready to welcome your children back. The excitement of the first day of school is unmatched!

In-Person Learning

Staff are putting the finishing touches on our increased safety and hygiene protocols. Our buildings are prepped and ready with social distancing in place as much as possible. We have planned for movement through our buildings in a safe way. We have plans for entering and exiting in a way that focuses on safety and hygiene. We continue to receive guidance and support from Public Health-Muskegon County. The document linked here: Back to School Parent Toolkit is a great resource for families as they navigate this year's return to school.

Virtual/Distance Learning

The creation and refinement of our virtual/distance learning option continues. Families will receive more communication and information this week and early next as class lists are finalized, technology supports are passed out, and material distribution is scheduled.

High School and Middle School families will receive direct communication from their building regarding virtual/distance learning. For our elementary families many important details are included in the welcome letter linked here: Elementary Virtual/Distance Learning Communication

There is little doubt that the start of this year will be unique. We truly cannot wait to welcome our Sailor families back into our classrooms and our virtual learning environments. Our kids need the consistency, stability, and support of our school/home partnership. Together we will make the 2020-21 school year the best it can be for our kids!

See you all on September 8!
