On June 5, 2026 at approx 21:00 hrs Chief J. Hopkins conducted a traffic stop on Greenbrier Ave in Ronceverte WV. Upon talking to the driver Chief Hopkins could smell a strong odor of what seemed to be Ma*****na coming from the vehicle at which point Chief Hopkins asked for the driver to step out and asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle where the driver pulled three bags of what appeared to be ma*****na out and placed them in the bed of the truck. Upon Ptlm. L. Anderson arrival a vehicle search was conducted and another bag of what appeared to be ma*****na was found along with drug paraphernalia.. Upon weighing the the bags separately, all four bags came to a total weight of approx. 100 grams.

If this is your dog that has been running loose in the area of Elm St. and North Ave near the Lions Club please make sure there is an “owner” attached to it or keep it inside your yard and not running at large. Thanks….

A cell phone was found early this morning 4/4/26 on a picnic table underneath the Picnic shelter near tri county produce on Edgar Ave. Ronceverte WV. If this cell phone is yours it is at the Ronceverte police department. You’ll need to prove it’s yours by unlocking it .

Need help in identifying an individual using someone’s bank card here in Ronceverte WV. I know it’s not much due to the subject concealing his face but there is some facial features that can be seen plus maybe you have seen the individual wearing the clothing walking through town. After 16 weeks of extensive training at the West Virginia State Police Academy, he will now begin his Field Training (FT) phase. We wish Patrolman Juma continued success and safety as he starts this next chapter of his law enforcement career.

Update: Owner was located and her dog was returned to her safely… Thank you citizens of Ronceverte..

The Ronceverte Police department would like to have the community’s assistance in locating the owner of this animal so we can him returned home to its rightful owner. At this point he is on Academy street tied up in someone’s yard so it doesn’t get ran over. Please if you know who the owner is contact the Ronceverte Police Department.
