Just a reminder that Drug Take Back Day is also on Saturday, October 24th, the same day as the Halloween event. The Romeo Police Department is always a collection site; however, on the 24th, we are partnering with Kroger pharmacy and will have a collection site set up in the parking lot of the police department from 10am until 2pm. Look for the tent! Please, if you have unused prescription or over the counter drugs, don't put them into our landfills or water supply, find a collection point and dispose properly.

🇮🇹 ROMEO POLICE DEPARTMENT – MICHIGAN, USA

🇺🇸 ROMEO POLICE DEPARTMENT – MICHIGAN, USA

🍑🚔 A new story from the heart of Michigan joins our Wall of Heroes!

This time, we are visiting Romeo, a charming village in Macomb County, Michigan, where local history, traditions, and a strong sense of community remain an important part of everyday life.

Romeo’s roots date back to the early nineteenth century. The settlement gradually developed into an important commercial center for the surrounding area, thanks to agriculture, local businesses, and the hard work of its residents. Today, Romeo still preserves the charm of its historic downtown, with tree-lined streets, distinctive buildings, and local shops that give the village its welcoming character.

🍑 ONE OF ROMEO’S BEST-KNOWN TRADITIONS: THE ROMEO PEACH FESTIVAL

The festival began in 1931 to promote the local peach harvest and support the community’s economy. Over the decades, it has grown into a much-loved annual celebration featuring parades, entertainment, family activities, and events that bring residents and visitors together over Labor Day weekend. It is a wonderful example of the connection between Romeo, its local heritage, and the people who make the community special.

🚔 THE ROLE OF THE ROMEO POLICE DEPARTMENT

Within a community with such a rich history, the Romeo Police Department plays an important role in public safety and service to residents.

Local policing means being present in the community, responding professionally to everyday challenges, and helping maintain the trust that strengthens the relationship between law enforcement and the people they serve.

Behind every uniform are responsibilities, dedication, and people who choose to devote themselves to the safety of others. This is also what makes discovering different police departments so meaningful: learning about the places where they operate and the communities they serve every day.

🤝 A SPECIAL THANK-YOU

Today, thanks to the wonderful patch we received, Romeo becomes another stop on our journey through police departments and the people who proudly wear their uniforms.

A special thank-you to Chief of Police Kevin Roy for his kindness and willingness to help us add the Romeo Police Department patch to our Wall of Heroes.

Gestures like this remind us that even when thousands of miles separate us, a shared passion for law enforcement can create opportunities for meaningful connections and genuine friendship.

Warm greetings from Italy to Chief Roy, all the officers of the Romeo Police Department, and the entire community of Romeo, Michigan! 🇮🇹🤝🇺🇸
