Our local Youth Detention Center is launching a summer basketball program, following positive outcomes from similar programs showing that basketball builds sportsmanship, strengthens youth-staff relationships, and creates an environment of hope and possibility.
To help get this program off the ground, they need donations of new men's basketball shoes--the following sizes, in particular:
Size 8.5 — 1 pair
Size 9.5 — 2 pairs
Size 10 — 3 pairs
Size 11 — 1 pair
Size 12 — 1 pair
You can help in two ways: drop off a new pair at United Way, 1304 N Broad St, Rome, GA 30161, or donate funds designated to sponsor a pair, and we'll take care of the rest. We'll make sure every shoe gets where it needs to go.
