Strong communities are built by people who show up.
For generations, working people have played an important role in strengthening communities and helping neighbors thrive.
United Way’s partnership with the labor movement dates back to the 1940s, when workers and local unions came together to support their communities during times of need. That partnership has continued to grow, creating connections between labor, United Way, and the people and families they serve.
Today, that same spirit of service and solidarity continues through partnerships with labor organizations across the country.
This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the workers, unions, and community members who show up, lend a hand, and help make our communities stronger.
Here’s to the people who keep our communities moving forward. ❤️
