Congratulations to Emily Kay for being one of the recipients of The Noon Optimist Front Line Award for 2026.

When faced with the unexpected absence of her supervisor, Emily did not hesitate to step up when her team needed her the most. She took over the supervisor role without seeking recognition or the title for a year and a half. During that time she remained one of our highest call takers while managing staffing and operational oversight.

Thank you for your dedication to your coworkers, partnering agencies, and citizens of Rome and Floyd County!

Special thanks to The Noon Optimist Club in Rome for lunch and putting on this annual event.

Thank you to Walmart for the snacks and drinks today! Our dispatchers appreciate the support. 💛

The Walmart AP Team for both Rome stores had the opportunity to stop by the Floyd County Emergency Dispatch office today and drop off some snacks. They also got a wonderful education on the hard work they do there. The Walmart AP Teams helps keep the stores safe, but their amazing Dispatch team keeps all of Floyd County safe, around the clock. Keep it up!

Did YOU know 911 Dispatchers are required to be CPR certified and recertify every 2 years? This week we held two separate in house CPR classes to ensure that we're ready if the need arises. Whether in person or on the phone instructing another individual, we know that seconds matter. Thank you Alisha for keeping our crew certified!
