Calling all veterans, active military members, families, caregivers, and survivors — the We Care Vet Fair Northwest Georgia is coming to Rome! 🇺🇸

Join United Military Care, AdventHealth, and more than 100 community partners at The Forum River Center on June 11–12 for two days filled with resources, support, health screenings, benefits assistance, employment opportunities, and real conversations designed to help veterans and military families leave with a plan.

Tonight, legendary hitmakers KC and the Sunshine Band bring decades of music and memories to The Forum River Center. If you haven't made plans yet, there may still be a few tickets available.

Then tomorrow, keep the party going in Downtown Rome with a FREE block party featuring live music, sidewalk sales, street performers, local businesses, and plenty of family-friendly fun.

🏆 Congratulations to Karina H., an 8th-grade student and the winner of the "Unearth the Story of Floyd County" Writing Contest!

Karina's outstanding entry captured the spirit, history, and unique story of our community through the power of written words. The contest invited students across Rome and Floyd County to explore local historic places through poetry, short stories, and personal reflections as part of Historic Preservation Month and the America250 celebration.

We are proud of Karina for sharing her creativity and talent while helping preserve and celebrate the stories that make Floyd County special.

Samantha Bishop, Senior Planner with the Rome-Floyd Planning Department, presented Karina with her award.

We’re celebrating the riders who keep Rome moving every day!

Join the Rome Transit Department on Friday, June 5, for Transit Rider Appreciation Day at the Midtown Transfer Station. Stop by for lunch, prize drawings, community fellowship, and information about upcoming transit system changes launching in July.

🌭 Lunch served from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
🎁 Prize drawings at 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM & 1:30 PM
🚌 Mainline routes will be FARE FREE all day!
