A few months ago, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) contacted them about shooting a video for this year's Fire Prevention Week theme.

Hey 👋🏻 Scout and Goose here to talk about all things Hydration! 💦 As temperatures rise, it’s important to stay hydrated and take care of your body. Whether you’re working, playing sports, attending outdoor events, or enjoying time with family, proper hydration can help prevent heat-related illnesses. 🥵

✅ Drink water throughout the day—not just when you’re thirsty.
✅ Limit sugary and caffeinated drinks that can contribute to dehydration.
✅ Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning when possible.
✅ Watch for signs of dehydration such as dizziness, headaches, fatigue, and dry mouth.
✅ Encourage children and seniors to drink water regularly, as they may be more vulnerable to heat-related issues.

Remember: Staying hydrated isn’t just about comfort—it’s about safety. Drink up, stay cool, and enjoy the season responsibly!👍🏻

The railroad crossing at Reeceburg Road will be closed Thursday June 11, 2026 for emergency repairs beginning at 6 a.m. Work is not expected to be completed for at least 12 hours.

Detours will be set at Old Rockmart Road and Booze Mountain Road. Plan now for delays or alternate routes.

What ties do you have to the community? Born and raised in Floyd County, attended and graduated from Pepperell High School in 2022.

What is your favorite thing about working for RFD? I love coming to work every day to a group of people that strives to be better than they were yesterday. You can constantly see God working first-hand in this career. It’s a blessing to be a part of something that sheds such a positive light on the community.

Warm weather means pool days, lake trips, and beach time. Make sure fun never turns into danger. A safe swim is a fun swim.👍
• Always keep eyes on swimmers (especially kids) 👀
• Know how to swim 🏊
• Wear bright colored swimsuits🩱
• Avoid swimming alone 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️
• Know your limits and rest when tired😴
• Never mix alcohol with swimming🚫🍹
