The Rome-Floyd Fire Department invites you to join us for a special 25th anniversary 9/11 Commemorative Service as we honor the heroes who gave everything, remember the lives lost, and recognize the courage and unity that continue to define our nation.

📍 Memorial Plaza – Rome-Floyd Fire Department

We’ll be joined by a special guest flyover from the Museum of Flight, along with a display of flags by the Exchange Club of Rome.

🪑 Seating will be provided. This is an outdoor event and will be held rain or shine.

Come stand with us. Come remember with us. Come honor the heroes.

Teen Maze 2026. 😊
The opening scene taught students to always wear a helmet while riding on an ATV, and never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. With the help of multiple public safety agencies, we hope this scene made an impact on our local 9th graders. Thank you to everyone who helped make this opening scene successful. 👍🏻

🚒🚔CITY TEAMS COME TOGETHER FOR TEEN MAZE

For the past two days, members of the Rome Police Department and Rome-Floyd County Fire Department participated in the 2026 Floyd County Teen Maze.

Presented by the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth, this annual event is made possible through the partnership of numerous local businesses, schools, public safety agencies, community organizations and volunteers.

More than 1,200 ninth-grade students from Rome City Schools, Floyd County Schools, Darlington School and the Georgia School for the Deaf participated in realistic scenarios showing how choices involving peer pressure, drugs, alcohol and other risky behaviors can lead to serious consequences.

Our police officers and firefighters see firsthand how one decision can become an emergency or change the course of someone’s life. Teen Maze gives students an opportunity to experience those possibilities in a safe, interactive setting—and encourages them to make choices that protect their lives and their futures.

This is a favorite event each year for our City teams, and we are proud to partner with the many agencies, organizations and volunteers who make it possible. It is a powerful example of our community working together for its young people! 💙❤️

✨What is your favorite thing about working for RFD? I enjoy being a member of the Rome Fire Department because it gives me the opportunity to serve my community when people need help the most. I value the teamwork and trust required to overcome challenges and keep our community safe. I also enjoy the camaraderie and strong relationships built through serving alongside others. Mentoring younger members and helping them develop the skills and confidence they need is especially rewarding. Being able to serve, support my fellow firefighters and help prepare the next generation is what makes this profession so meaningful to me.

✨What is your favorite thing about working for RFD? I enjoy the comradery that is shared between every crew within the department. Everyone is treated like family inside and outside of work. I have made some friendships that I know will last a lifetime. I also enjoy serving the community I grew up in and enjoy making a difference in someone’s life no matter the circumstance.
