Summer is a time to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends—but it's also important to take care of your mental health. Staying connected to supportive people, maintaining healthy routines, and knowing where to turn for help can make a big difference in overall well-being.

At Rome City Schools, we encourage students and families to prioritize mental wellness throughout the summer. Remember, asking for help is a sign of strength, and support is available when you need it.

Healthy minds help build healthy futures.

Rome City Schools wrapped up Summer Language Camp earlier this week.

For eight days, our elementary students explored engaging, hands-on activities and thematic lessons designed to strengthen their academic language skills while having fun along the way.

We loved welcoming families to our showcase and giving students the opportunity to share everything they learned and created. Seeing their excitement and pride made the event even more special.

The camp concluded with an exciting Fire Safety Day as the Rome-Floyd Fire Department stopped by for water activities, safety lessons, and plenty of smiles.
Thank you to our students, families, staff, and community partners for making this year's Summer Language Camp such a success. We can't wait to see all the great things these students accomplish this school year.

Rome City Schools has once again earned a clean audit report, the highest level of assurance an auditor can provide, reflecting the district's commitment to accountability, transparency, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.

The audit found no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies and included a review of all ESPLOST expenditures. This achievement highlights the hard work of our finance team, administrators, and Board of Education as we continue investing in student achievement, school safety, literacy initiatives, and employee support. Summer means more travel, more teen drivers, and more time behind the wheel. Whether you're heading across town or across the state, safe driving habits can make all the difference.

This week, Rome City Schools encourages students, families, and staff to stay focused on the road, buckle up every trip, follow parking lot safety procedures, and make smart decisions behind the wheel. A few simple choices can help protect you, your passengers, and everyone sharing the road.

Together, let's make safety a priority wherever summer takes us.
