Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001, but the memories of that day remain forever etched in our hearts.
We remember the innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the brave firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and everyday heroes who ran toward danger while others ran away.
We remember the courage, compassion, and unity that followed one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.
Twenty-five years later, the lights still shine—not only to remember those we lost, but to remind us that their lives, their stories, and their sacrifices will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸🕊️

The members of Stanwix Heights Fire Department extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to the Sylvan Beach Fire Department, as well as the family and friends of 3rd Assistant Chief Ryan Voorhies, following his sudden passing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, and fellow firefighters during this incredibly difficult time.

It is with heavy hearts and extreme difficulty that we pass along the tragic and untimely death of 3rd Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Voorhies. Ryan was fatally injured in a UTV accident last night in Lewis County. Please keep Ryan's wife Katie, son Gabe, son Logan and his entire family in your thoughts. Services will be posted when available.
