Hi everyone,
I am sorry it has been so long since I posted anything. It's been a tough couple of months with illness and family responsibilities, but I'm getting organized and things should be back to normal soon, I hope.
Please keep knitting, crocheting and sewing. The people who depend on the service we provide continue to need us.
I would like to plan our next meetings for August 11, 12 & 13.
Knitting/Crocheting: Aug. 11, 6-9 p.m.
Sewing: Aug. 12 & 13, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Current members, I hope we have a good turnout.
If you are considering joining us, message me and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.

The “Merry Makers” is a group of knitters, crocheters and sewers who donate their time & talents making items we pass out to members of our community. We make hats, mittens and scarves for our local school children; Chemo Caps, “Knitted Knockers”, and lap robes for those going through chemotherapy; and we make walker bags and adult bibs for any seniors who need them.

We were established in August of 2018 and began making knitted and crocheted items for local school children. The next year we were asked to include sewers into our group to make Chemo Caps and walker bags. Last year we were sent an article about “Knitted Knockers” and asked if we could start making those also. After downloading the knitted & crocheted patterns from www.knittedknockers.org, we began looking for organizations that could utilize the “Knitted Knockers”. It wasn’t hard to find cancer centers who wanted them.

Our goal is to make life easier for those who benefit from what we make, and we individually wrap to make each item more special.

“Merry Makers” is part of the Altar Rosary Society (ARS) of St. Peter’s Church, Rome NY, but not all our ladies are ARS members. Although we are always happy to welcome new members into ARS, it is not necessary to be an ARS member, or a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church, Rome, NY, to join the “Merry Makers”.

Here are some of the items we have made.

Everything we make is tagged with our logo before it is sent out.
