We would like to share the securement of our brand new and fully equiped utility terrain vehicle (UTV-1)!! 🚨

This unit was requested through The State of Texas E-Grants that our team spent numerous hours and days working on. This grant required careful analysis on annual firefighting stats, well written narratives, and loads of research on heavy duty equipment. From searching for utvs, compatible fire pumps, and firefighting tools, we were able to successfully build our own unit from scratch. 💯

This utility vehicle will assist our crew by helping them get into narrow and brushy areas that our regular units can't access. It is equipped with a 55 gallon fire pump as well as medical equipment. 💧

Utv-1 will also be used to assist our city during special events where rapid response is needed. 🔥

Our staff and volunteers are thrilled with the procurement of brand new Bullard firefighting helmets!! 😄

After almost a year of tedious research, detailed writing, and various applications, our team was awarded two different grants to purchase firefighting equipment. By venturing on this opportunity we were able to obtain 16 brand new structure firefighting helmets along with other assets.

We want to give a huge shout out to the Texas Forestry Service together with The State of Texas E-Grants for fullfilling out objective.💪🚒

Our department is thrilled to announce another one of our newest equipment gains!! 😲

Thanks to the "Texas Forest Service Grant" we now count on two complete sets of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatuses.

The SCBA is a portable cylinder carried by firefighters that is designed to deliver clean and breathable air to its user. This piece of equipment is a vital lifeline for our firefighters performing in immediately dangerous to life or health environments. 💪

This abundance of gear would not be possible without the Border Zone Safety E-Grant that we were awarded this year. Thanks to these state funds we are now able to provide new, improved, and safer protective equipment for our staff and volunteers. 💯

🚒We would like to take a moment to thank our firefighters and volunteer firefighters for their steady dedication to our department. Everything that you all do does not go unnoticed. 👀

🥳Every May 4th we celebrate these amazing individuals for the effort and sacrifices that they make to ensure the safety of our city. Last night we had a successful commemoration for our members as a small token of appreciation for their devotion.

🏆Also, please help us congratulate our volunteer firefighter of the year, Lauro E. Cantu!! This young leader was chosen as this year's recipient for the annual award because of his noticeable application to the department. Day in and out, Lauro is always ready to help where help is needed. While juggling with high school, college, and personal hobbies, he always finds the time to serve our department. Thank you Lauro for your continuous support!

On behalf of the Roma Fire Department, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Aylin Garza and to wish her a very Happy Administrative Professionals Week.👏🏼

🚒As our department secretary, she brings dedication, organization, and compassion to every task. Her work ensures that our department remains efficient and our firefighters have the support they need to protect this community.

While our firefighters are on the front lines, Aylin is the steady force in the office, making sure everything runs smoothly from managing vital paperwork and scheduling to assisting the community with care and professionalism. 🙏

🙌We would like to take a moment to give thanks to the Delia Gonzalez Garcia Elementary Student Council for their generous blanket donation this afternoon. 🤗

Thanks to this team we will be able to keep our community members warm upon the arrival of next week's cold weather.🥶

🚒Our station will put these blankets into good use by providing them to anyone who stays at our fire house over the week.

‼Reminder: We will be opening a warming shelter for Roma residents starting this Saturday, January 24th at 6:00 P.M. through Tuesday, January 27th. Please make sure to bring an identification that shows your physical address within the city limits.

SAFETY TIP FOR FRYING TURKEYS🔥🦃:

🦃 Make sure to not fry any frozen turkeys and thaw out accordingly.

🦃 Do not overfill your pot.

🦃 Don't let your oil get too hot.

🦃 If the cooking causes a fire, DO NOT put water on it.

🦃 Keep children and pets away and remember to always use protective gear.
